Looks are subjective I know but Wow..to me..that is one ugly looking car. Hope this is nowhere near the final version.

But does it not have AC vents for the rear passengers?

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

This is not how the new Brezza looks. The new gen Brezza looks better than the current one as reported by people in the know but not like the one showed in this photoshopped image. The interiors do contain Air vents for Rear passengers.
Some of the details are right though like 6AT, Sunroof, Mild Hybrid tech, wireless charger, 6 airbags, bigger sized infotainment screen etc.

That's a host of great information. Can you also confirm if the length is 4 meters (similar to current one) or more like the S-Cross?

Vehicle footprint would be very similar to outgoing vehicle, i.e. less than 4m.

Normally Brezza and even it's minor changes have been showcased at Indian Automotive Show. If it is on for 2022, I guess at least the unveiling would happen there. But sales should definitely happen in 2022, in April - October would be my guess ( I know it's a wide band!!)

W.O.W! Is this really happening? I mean some of the things are really small for them like Mild Hybrid tech which they already have, wireless charging and infotainment which anyone can do now. But 6AT , 6 airbags and Sunroof all in one shot?

Sunroof is still possible for MSIL. After all for a sub4m car, you don't need to give a panoramic thing. Just a small one will do. But do they have the capability to give 6 airbags and a new auto box? I somehow feel the guy giving tidbits is confusing with Vitara Brezza and Grand Vitara.

Also wouldn't it be a major strategic blunder if Brezza gets all this first and the so called premium Nexa range vehicles like XL6, S-Cross, Ciaz etc still does not get any of these?

Ever since the 1.5L petrol engine was introduced, Brezza moved out of sub-4m tax bracket. It will be stupid of them to keep the length capped at 4m for the next gen product if the plan to keep using the 1.5L. They have to move the car upmarket.

Suzuki's 6AT is already available in many of their Global products.

More on the upcoming Vitara Brezza!

- Refreshed Vitara Brezza to be unveiled by mid-2022

- Vitara Brezza will continue to sit on the same Suzuki Global C platform as the outgoing model. The SUV was tested by Global NCAP in 2018 and holds a four-star crash test rating.

- Apart from the doors, almost every other body panel is expected to be redesigned including the front and rear bumpers and grille

Exactly the reason I said that these leaks might be about Grand Vitara coming to India in the NEXA range.

Brezza has sold more than 6L units till now. Assuming just 20% are automatic, they have sold more than 1L AMT's in Brezza. They could have brought 6AT long back if they wanted. Even if they bring now, do they have facility/Expertise to manufacture it locally? Importing the gearbox is not going to help Maruti in terms of pricing. Maybe the Gujarat plant controlled by Suzuki will have provision for making them locally to bring costs down.

PS: Brezza is a well built vehicle with neutral looks leaning to pleasing side. With 6AT and 6 airbags inside them, there are many like me who have in the past vowed to never buy a MSIL car to get converted in no time and bring one home.

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

This is great news.

If someone ask me what all improvements i would like to see , I can think of below -

1. 5 star safety (Read more airbags as well)
2. Competent diesel engine.
3. 6 speed auto in both diesel & petrol.
4. If not digital instrument cluster, a better from the current one for sure.
5. Sunroof should certainly bring in lots of customers.
6. EV Compatible, just like Nexon. Even though MS has long way to go, but this is just a wish list.
7. Better interiors & ambient light.
8. Bigger screen & good audio output for our music lover friends.
9. Connected features, may be.

I think that's all. Lets see what others can add.
