When I purchased the Brezza ZDi+ in May 2016, it's ex-showroom price was Rs. 9,91,xxx/- . In total, paid around 11 lakhs on road. That's a massive bump in prices since that time.

Is the automatic transmission unit imported? Why would they charge 1.5lakhs above the manual transmission variant for an AT and it's other associated features?

Is it the same platform as previous generation Brezza? Global C?

Can some 1 explain how they managed to get wider C windows, while keeping the length same! Is it a compromise on legspace, or bonnet space?!

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

Price gap between Lxi (8 lakhs) and Vxi (almost 9.5 lakhs) is too much (1.5 lakhs ). For someone contemplating between petrol and diesel, price difference with Sonet and Venue diesel reduces, if going for Vxi.

At the same time, i find Lxi to be good value - just needs an aftermarket music system (and speakers) and since the frame looks like the one in Baleno, there already must be horde of options in the aftermarket.

Also i would any day take 1500 CC petrol with mild hybrid (should give decent fuel economy), versus lame 1.2 NA engines. 3 cylinder turbo petrols again are pricey for what they offer, and fuel pump issues will always be on the back of mind.

.
I think, the feature difference between Vxi and Lxi is more this time. Vxi additionally get Auto AC, Driver seat height adjust, Music system that supports Android Auto and car play, along with steering mounted controls, Rear defogger, Electrically foldable mirrors. To me it feels like most buyers might start from Vxi and Lxi is just there for providing a lower sticker price.

Is it only me or anyone else see the resemblance of espresso in the front angle. Looks ugly to me personally.

No surprises here. This is the exact price difference between the MT and AT variants on both the just launched Ertiga and XL6 that use the same engine gearbox combo. So was expected.

Nevertheless, very optimistic pricing in my view. Especially considering you can get a Z4 Petrol Scorpio N at 13.5L. Even if you consider a price bump of 1L after the initial 25K bookings, you get a much more powerful, bigger and hopefully well built vehicle that will last for years to come!

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

Very surprised by the prices announced by Maruti. Brezza used to be an affordable yet well built no nonsense sub compact SUV. The top end used to retail at around ~12L OTR. The price hike has taken me by surprise. Some of the variants will go head to head with those of Creta!

Looking at these prices I expect Toyota Hyryder to within a whisker of 20L OTR!

Car prices in India are reaching astronomical levels! If I remember correctly one could buy a top of the line Accord or even the BMW X1 for 18L-22L.

Such launches are only strengthening my resolve of going for a well maintained used car.

What are your thoughts dear BHPians?

So bit out of the loop here but is this car a new platform or do the safety ratings of the old Brezza apply (notwithstanding the additional airbags)?

More than the price difference of Zxi+ variant, I am concerned about the price difference of other variants. In Zxi+, we get sunroof (also in Zxi), 360 degree camera, HUD, side and curtain airbags which were not in earlier Zxi+. But in other variants like Zxi, sunroof and touch screen infotainment are the only major addition (other than 6AT over 4 AT)

Wow. There have been so many small price increases over the last 2 years.

But, ZXI+ for the old one is probably more comparable to the new ZXI, where again the price increase looks massive.

Does anyone know how much was the price increase in this facelift?

The prices look high for a Maruti, and it looks like they have to allow Nexon's dominance in this segment.

Another bit is if they finally bring in a 1.5 diesel, they can really take the competition by storm(I recently heard in a interview that diesel accounts for a third of Venue bookings, so the market is definitely not small) with the savings in tax they should be able to price it really close to where it stands for petrol. Although I don't think we will see another diesel from Maruti.
