re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

From a buyer's market cars are now shifted to a seller's market... Even though features have been added which justifies prices increases, the inflation and sellers profits are rocketing leading to what appears to be an unjustified price hike...

I can see an armrest in the interior photos on Maruti's website. Ventilated seats is definitely a miss and would have made ZXI+'s price much more palatable, weirdly Venue's facelift missed the same as well.

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

Ambitious pricing, I would say! And why not, considering over the roof pricing by most OEMs. :(

Just a month back, I was in two minds while looking for a family car - whether to wait for this one or go ahead with a hatchback.

I am glad getting the G i10, which even though sits a segment lower, is a sensible choice at <7.5L OTR.

The Lxi, as rightly pointed out by others, is just a bare bone variant made only to have a <8L Exsh entry price.

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

As a customer, I have 0 concerns regarding MS getting greedy or losing their VFM tag with this pricing (interesting that only Toyota and Mahindra have a costlier base model than Brezza). What I care about is whether the product is safe, exciting, and reliable.

If I am in the market for a CSUV today I will not buy a Brezza only because of its engine. I like this new chiseled look, sharper presence, and the rest of the package works well for my requirements. But I know that for 80% of the customer base this 102 hp will suffice. A rare car where Maruti can shed that unsafe tag together with its humongous outreach and other USPs can help it snatch the top spot from Nexon.
Cheers

Atrocious pricing, especially for top models. There goes my wish to upgrade from Ignis.

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

A rough (top of the mind) calculation for possible on-road price for the Breeza ZXI+ AT dual tone variant here in hyderabad would cost as below

Ex-Showroom - 1420000 (Assuming Price difference in ex-showroom between Hyd & Delhi is ~ 20K)
Road Tax (17%) - 241400
Insurance - ~ 48000
TCS - 14200
Reg charges - 1650
Hypothecation - 1500
Fast Tag - 600

Total On-road: 1727335/-

When I compare this to the on-road price for Seltos HTX iVT variant (as received from Car KIA showroom at Gachibowli in Hyd), the seltos looks much more promising with an on road price of 1849751/-

Seltos pricing at Hyderabad (Effective 2'nd June, 2022)

Ex-Showroom - 1515000
Road Tax (17%) - 257550
Insurance - ~ 58416
TCS - 15150
Reg charges - 1650
Hypothecation - 1500
Fast Tag - 500

Total On-road: 1849751/-

I believe, feature wise Seltos HTX iVT variant looks more value for money. Safety wise Seltos has only 4 airbags compared to 6 on Brezza. However, the crash test rating may give a different impression altogether.

Arm rest is only on the top end Zxi+ model only. Also basic useful features like TPMS is missing. Quite disappointing with this pricey launch.

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

If Maruti manages to sell Brezza at 17L OTR, I don't know what to say then. Ever since Kushaq launch, each new release of car barring the Mahindra duo's has been a pattern - too costly.
Suddenly City V looks like undervalued and Sonet looks like VFM.
Let's wait for the official TBHP review and see what our expert mods opine on the pricing.
Right now, it's difficult to wrap around the pricing of Brezza with an engine of meagre 100 odd bhp numbers.

Hi All,

I have a question regarding the 4M rule.
If petrol engine is greater than 1200cc or length of the vehicle is more than 4M, same GST will be applied right? Why wouldn’t Maruti just extend Brezza beyond 4M, rebadge it and call it a C segment SUV, a direct rival to creta?

To keep a provision for downsizing the engine and adding features like ADAS, Ventilated seats etc ( wishful thinking at my end) in future facelifted without penalising consumers too much.

Here is the brochure of the new Brezza. Interesting to note, that the following features are common across variants (available even in the base variant) :

- Brake Energy Regeneration (segment first)
- Torque Assist during acceleration (segment first)
- ESP
- Hill hold assist

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

This is quite simply a blunder from Maruti's side. Garish looks and bad pricing aside, we must think that what does this hot and techy car offers over the existing one? Surely I can see some hot and techy gimmicks and no real upgrades like a Turbo petrol with maruti's reliablity or a new manual tranny with an added taller 6th gear because at 100km/h, the engine revs are 2700 in the 5 speed unit.

Where's TPMS? Where's a better sound system? All we got is the same old 6 speaker setup (granted with arkamys tuning which is all but an equaliser). Non existent door damping that doesn't sound good and also rattles the doors when playing music.

Also, stupid decisions like giving armrest and rear wiper on overpriced to hell top variant. I have low expectations of this selling much.

Where I can appreciate them is their new found commitment to safety by proving ESP and hill hold on all variants in all their recent launches. But will reserve my judgement till it gets tested.

Why is the gear lever looking so bad on a brand new car?
