Competition has moved ahead significantly. The likes of Sonet, Venue and Nexon are giving tough fight to the Vitara Brezza. Good that Maruti is bringing the all new Brezza earlier than expected.

That's true. If new generation Brezza is getting launched this year, then that's definitely a good move. But not seeing any test-mules is what raises doubts on the mentioned launch timeline.

The face-lift was just a minor one and wasn't a new car completely. Such midlife facelifts can be done flexibly without influencing the timelines of the introduction of a bigger facelift. The biggest change recently was the introduction of the petrol engine. And the rest of the car was more or less the same. This time, it could just be the opposite and the engine could be retained while the rest of the car changes. Quite normal IMO. I hope they also can increase the electric-only capabilities of the car to at least be able to crawl in bumper to bumper traffic rather than just torque assist. If it can at least do 10kmph in electric only mode, then thats a good step ahead for Maruti in the hybrid space.

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

Any idea how reliable these scoops about a Q3 launch for the 2nd gen Brezza are? A friend is looking to buy one and if there's a new model incoming then I can suggest waiting for it. Their plan was to wait till August anyway so waiting till September/ October is not a stretch.

If the rumours might be hogwash then getting the current version makes more sense than waiting endlessly.

No use waiting. Post Covid, all launches are off track. In any case, the unveil was likely to be at Auto Expo with Launch in March next year similar to current Brezza launch.

Is there enough space in the engine bay to accommodate a 6 speed automatic transmission? I don't know. Experts can comment.

If they manage to modernize that ancient interior , Brezza will eat into all the lower variant sales of Creta and Seltos. A BS6 version of the 1.5 diesel would be a bonus.

New Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza facelift spied for the first time:

The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh-2021newmarutisuzukivitarabrezzaspypic2.jpeg

Quote:
Maruti Brezza was spied testing in Chennai under heavy camouflage. On the first glimpse, the new Brezza might not resemble the current model on sale, owing to its cosmetic updates
Quote:
the Brezza has shed its boxy silhouette and gained curves, making the sub-4 metre SUV appealing. However, the upright driving position is retained
Quote:
Maruti Suzuki has reworked the front fascia as well, as the 2021 Brezza gets a new grille and updated headlight design. The front grille is segmented into three sections and on a closer look, one can just about make the headlight design.
Quote:
The variant spied is a lower-spec trim of the Brezza, given the steel wheels. However, this can be a diversion by Maruti Suzuki to keep the alloy-wheel design under wraps
Quote:
The upcoming Brezza is expected to get an updated touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) and connected car tech. Also, the new Brezza will have a tweaked Smart Hybrid Vehicle System (SVHS) to make the car more efficient.

Is it a facelift or completely new car? Brezza was launched more than five years ago. What it needs is a new generation, not just a facelift.

Seeing the curves, I think this cannot be the 2022 Brezza! Instead, this could very well be the Maruti Baleno based YTB crossover which was intended to be a coupe styled car like Nissan Magnite and Tata Nexon.

Also, I talked to one of the people I know at Maruti and they said that the Brezza will begin road testing only in October! Though he did not confirm if this is YTB, he said that this was definitely not the Brezza.

Hence, this is most likely going to be the YTB because of the curves!

This is definitely the upcoming C-SUV from Citroen. They use the HR trade plates.

How am I so sure? Well, I know!

It is indeed the Citroen and not new or next gen Brezza. Even the light and the plate matches with other Citroens, except the last few digits.

On topic, as we are yet to see any test mules of next gen Brezza yet, I wonder how far away it is. Maruti at least tests their cars for an year with camouflage before making an appearance for TVC. We have nothing yet so far, nothing!

Maruti would be happy launching it in sub-4 meter guise but there would be many whose priorities and requirements would have changed by now. After owning a Brezza for over 5 years, I have reservations about its boot capacity as it's neither here nor there. This sub-4 meter rule is . I would prefer atleast something as good as a S-Cross or a 7 seater. I'll even be ok with a 7 seater variant of XL6. Maruti should launch a proper 7 seater international model without compromising on safety. Oh, didn't I ask for too much from them?
