re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

Was the previous gross vehicle weight 1600 kg or 1680 kg? Addition of bigger (heavier) battery and reduction of gross vehicle weight by 40 kg, does it mean it is becoming lighter?
Or, if 1600 kg is correct, 40 kg increase could be due to heavier battery?

Even I was trying to find the old brezza weight. As per economic Times, it was 1680kg. There are different numbers online, not sure what is the correct weight.

Doubt this, car batteries weight 20 Kgs, max.

Just a couple of days and hopefully our doubts and fears are allayed.
Gross/net weight going down will not be a good thing on paper, at least.

1680kgs was the gross vehicle weight of the Brezza Diesel Pre-Facelift and 1600 kgs is the gross vehicle weight of the current Brezza Petrol.
Source- Brochures of both the Pre-Facelift and Facelifted models

The Brezza was never lightened, it just got a lighter engine. And since the Net weight difference in the current ZXI+ Manual and ZXI+ AT is just 20kgs (As per the brochure) with the old and heavy gearbox and additional battery, the GVW is not likely increased by the heavier battery.

With a heavier battery, the weight would've max gone to 1610-1620kgs.

The additional weight is more likely due to the sunroof and additional strengthening to compensate its presence.

Cancelled my booking from Maruti site, it seems they didn't deduct any charges. Refunded full 11k.

Most of the manufacturers have now stated 100% refund as the bookings are more than what the can deliver

A short video on LXI variant picked from youtube. Credit: Deepak Verma.

Placeholder for infotainment system really looks tacky!
Cladding is much more visible in white colour.

Waiting till 30 June is literally draining me!

Base variant indeed seems bare bones - but atleast it has all four power windows, electrically adjustable ORVM, central locking, and interestingly rear AC vents - in addition to Manual AC and power steering, which are standard now.

Is that an ESP/ Traction control(?) button?

If true, then Woohoo!!! Standard from base itself, instead of the usual 'only available in automatic' Maruti strategy.

True. A problem with these thick bezel tablet stuck on designs. Or they should have went for the Altroz or Nexon kinda design for the base variants.

2022 Maruti Brezza LXI Base Variant. Manual transmission but lucky to have rear AC vents.

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

Maruti could have gone with black/biege colour combination for interiors, it just makes the interiors look more roomier & welcoming. With Venue going with lighter shades, its only Brezza now that I think has all dark interiors.
