Would digress from the topic slightly, cost cutting is lowering quality of parts, deleting features to some specific market etc.

Parts sharing - while not a 'premium' behavior on part of manufacturer - should be called cost optimization rather than cost cutting.

It's a trade-off between having cheap parts readily available as spares AND looking very common across models VS having to wait for costlier parts WHILE looking a stand-out product.

I think the P is hidden below that plastic covering atop the gear lever. Its anyways in the front so ..

I don't think this is an AMT unit as it comes with paddle shifters similar to XL6 which can be seen in one of the images.

There is something funny with the angle that these images of the new Brezza have been taken. Takes away all the sportiness that we have seen in earlier scoop images and now it looks like a MPV from this angle.

Why such a thick roof? It reminds me of the Tata Sumo!

Is it to accommodate the sunroof? Even then, it looks too much for this vehicle.

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

Hi All, This is my first ever comment in this forum. I am very glad that I got the membership and hope to share my future travel journeys with you all.

And coming to this new Brezza, after seeing the picture I felt like a grown-up Wagon R. Not sure because of the camera angle or something but felt like a wagon rather than an SUV. But nevertheless, I have my eye on this car as a replacement for my Baleno and will definetely check it out while it is released.

The camera angle makes it look like a Wagon R. Best to wait for more clearer pictures before coming to conclusions. It seems the pictures were taken in haste. The steering quality if this is a top end variant seems not upto the mark. It should have been leather wrapped.

For sure, this is an effect of fisheye lens. They wanted to click the car from up close (maybe to not divulge the location further), but also get the full car body in in the frame. The other sneak pics from the TVC shoot look quite normal.

I just hope they haven’t gone to heart-attack platform (heartect), thereby jeopardising the previous 4* rating.

It is not a thick roof. The pictures have tricked us just like the XUV7OO case! Check it out:

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

16.3 kmpl with a new engine just off the assembly line, that should have run nothing more than 50-100kms is completely crazy!!

The focus is clearly on fuel economy with the even more economy-biased K15C, as seen already with the XL6.

Is it just me or does it appear from images that they've done away with the auto-dimming IRVM?

An easy sell for Maruti, this will just fly off the shelves. They seem to have got the feature list right this time.

However is it the angle of the photos or do the wheels look comically undersized? And that's a lot of blank buttons in the cabin. Anyways, I will reserve my judgement until after launch.

Do you expect Tesla-like door handles in these cars? Cars like City, Creta, Carens, Fortuner, C-class etc are coming with pull-type door handles.

Lol, never thought my english was very complex. Anyways, let me explain for you - a 2022 launch model having door handles from 2011 is not very pleasing especially those who are upgrading from such 2011 models.

Also, why would you compare with a Tesla ? Any rational ?

HUD, paddle shifters, 360° cameras, sunroof. Yet, they removed the front armrest?

Hope it is removed only for this particular vehicle, and the armrest remains. If not...
