Re: As a kid, what Indian car did you have a crush on?

I would say the Black / Red / Yellow Mitsubishi Lancer with a spoiler. Used to see a few of those modded out with loud music systems in my area.

Re: As a kid, what Indian car did you have a crush on?

Which car did I have a crush on? Two cars comes to my mind when I think of this.
Like many BHPians have rightly pointed out, it has to be the Safari Dicor without a doubt.
Fond memories of me walking into the Tata showroom along with my dad sometime in 2007 to see the handsome hunk glittering in all its glory made my knees weak. It was a 3.0 Dicor. We didn't opt for it though.
Come November 26th 2009 was the day when the Safari came home. A childhood dream come true.
As a kid, what Indian car did you have a crush on?-snapchat575055239.jpg

Another car would be the MK 1 Octavia VRS in Silver color and the Laura Facelift. The wait to own the Octavia/Laura was painstakingly slow but the dream eventually came true on November 26th 2017 yet again when we brought home the MK 3.5 Octavia TDI. Call it coincidence that both of my favorite cars came home on the exact same day.
Someday I wish to own the Laura as well. Hopefully soon.

These two stars of ours will continue to remain with us for many many more years to come.

Re: As a kid, what Indian car did you have a crush on?

I always had a big crush on Tata Sierra and the Tata Estate. I remember the Sales representative showing us the Power Steering in Tata Estate which literally blew my mind away. Even I could turn the steering wheel with one finger!

Though we had a Tata Sierra in the extended family and have found memories of traveling in it far and wide. Yet, I was too small at that time to be able to drive it. By the time I learnt driving, the car was in a very sad state and was not road worthy anymore. Post an engine rebuild, it never was the same again. Had a lot of heating issues. The breaks also had a mind of thier own, making it unsafe for the roads.

Apart from the above two cars, I had a huge crush on IND-Suzuki. A neighbour had it in blue color. He would ride it the way a two stroke should be ridden!

I could not pronounce 'Suzuki' back then and would call it 'Susuki'. (Hindi word for pee). My father used to enjoy hearing that susuki from me and would have a good laugh everytime I said it !

Re: As a kid, what Indian car did you have a crush on?

I guess it’s needless to add a picture of the Contessa since it was every guy’s crush. Other than the obvious here is my list:

Zen Carbon/Steel

How can you not include this chick in the thread! This is and will remain the love of my life. Would buy one in an instinct if I come across a well maintained example

Chevrolet SRV

In this particular shade please! I still feel the SRV was way ahead of its time.

Mitsubishi Cedia

For some reason the Cedia reminded me of Lexus IS300 (2003) and it being linked to the Evo was a bonus!

Honda Accord V6

As a kid, what Indian car did you have a crush on?-f8cb9e79d73947a6a19364590e164fd0.jpeg
Perhaps the first car that got me interested to learn about engines!

Black Chevrolet Cruze: I was always awestruck every time I saw one of these on the road. The oomph and the road presence it had was pretty much unmatched in the segment. My heart still jumps up and down at the thought of being able to own one of these someday.

Re: As a kid, what Indian car did you have a crush on?

Mine would be the Old Baleno, specifically a post 2006 example in VXi trim, for that Automatic A/C controls, the lovely spoiler, the clear taillights and mainly for that leather-wrapped steering.

PS: I know that this Baleno is not a post 2006 VXi, but she looks clean, so why not?

Re: As a kid, what Indian car did you have a crush on?

1. I always admired the Maruti Suzuki 1000 as a child. I was smothered by its classy looks.

2. Also, I was fascinated by the big digital speedometer that was introduced in the Honda Civic. As a kid, what Indian car did you have a crush on?-da66a2a497f2481b876c5ee9f87b06ae.jpeg

Re: As a kid, what Indian car did you have a crush on?

Being a 1995 born, as a kid, my first car crush was the Chevrolet Beat in green colour!! It seemed equal proportion cute and macho and the colour was striking in the boring sea of white, grey, silver and black.
Then in my high school, the Pajero and City were my favourites. City though!!! Purely aspirational!!! I wanted to get me one of those as soon as I started earning!!!
And then I had a chance to be in the co-driver seat of the BMW series 3 and travel the Mumbai Pune expressway.
The push back on the seat while accelerating!!
The great ride and handling!!! We were going 90kmph in the slightly twisty ghat section!!! And accelerating!!!!
And that feel of being stationary while actually driving at triple digit speed on a straight patch!!!!
I could only imagine how awesome driving it would be!!!!
Now it is my target to buy one in my thirties!!!
And then latest one, which I hope to be able to afford someday, is the Audi RS Q8!!!!
No matter what you say about it, and how you compare it with the Urus or anything else. RS Q8 is the love of my life for now!!! Gotta get me one of those!!! Not a day goes by when I haven't search for it online in hopes of some new blogs/photos/videos.
