My dad just owned a single car throughout his life which is Alto Lxi bought in 2010. For him, four-wheelers are just a means of transport for moving from one point to another.
That Alto was used by me to a great extent when I started driving and still serving well in my family.
Later on, I upgraded to Baleno in 2015 and I recently have a big upgrade to Harrier XZA+.
Not sure about others but moving up from a hatchback that was bought in 2015 for an amount of 6.5 lakhs to Harrier in five years for an amount of 23.5 lakhs is a significant jump for me.
Interesting Thread.
Mine would be the most Linear upgrade maybe on this thread:
Maruti Esteem Carb 1996>Skoda Octavia (1st Gen - First Big Upgrade) > Skoda Laura L&K Diesel 2013 > Skoda VRS 2018.
Whenever I think of making a big upgrade just can't beat the practicality of a Skoda especially with the Big Boot, will mostly be trying to purchase the Next Gen Endeaver or Fortuner maybe in a couple of years, currently with the outrageous pricing of BMW-Audi-Merc (maybe its only me) cant seem to justify myself for the next big jump when I get 80% of the car at 60% of the cost.
However my dream car remains BMW 530D - hopefully will get to own this one day.
My list goes like this.
2010 - Ritz VXI
2014 - + Grand i10 Sportz
2016 - + Superb 2.0 TDI Elegance
We skipped atleast 3 segments.
So what's next? Ofcourse 530d in 5 years from now.
