| ![]() Hyundai has introduced a new maintenance package called 'Shield of Trust'. It is available for up to 5 years across 9 models. ![]() Unlike other packages, this maintenance package covers the replacement of 14 wear and tear parts such as brakes, clutch, wipers, bulbs, hoses and belts. Customers can opt for this package when purchasing a new car or at any time before the vehicle's first free service. Highlights of the package:

BHPian ![]() | ![]() So we need to buy Extended Warranty and Shield of Trust both? Or is this a new name to the extended warranty (although they advertise as running repair coverage) and to cover up the customer dissatisfaction when something obvious wears out within 5 years? If a car is made with better parts such packages would not be required, or even we do not need to advertise durability with elephants standing on a car structure only to get a mere 3-star NCAP later on. Sorry Hyundai, but please make durable and safe cars for Indian market, we deserve it. |

Hyundai offers Wonder warranty where Extended warranty can be configured from 3-5 years upto the usage (one of these options 3 years unlimited/4 years 40k/5yr 50k without additional cost) and this is in addition to that plan.

Ofcourse as usual to get things approved for replacement before 60k might be a headache on it own. Without “shield” package : SA: Sir, this part is bad, that part is bad all need replacement else vehicle will breakdown SAAR. With “shield” package : SA: No issue with vehicle, can go smoothly until 65k Sir, Dont worry sir. SA- Service advisor. Last edited by SideView : 22nd February 2021 at 12:54. Reason: Typo

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() So on similar lines of what Tata has been selling since some years now as "P2P - Promise To Protect". I think more and more car-makers will join this band-wagon in near future for more revenue generation. Personally I never see the value of such schemes. Often these end up being revenue generators for dealerships / ASCs. Since with upfront payments done for parts - customers happily agree for part replacements - even when they might really not be needed in due course. 1. They don't hesitate to agree for part replacement. 2. They will even ask for part replacement since they have paid already. Its also a lump-sum payment in advance that the car-maker gets. In the big picture, these are good incomes for the carmakers. I'd rather end up paying a bit more, but only when I really need a part to be replaced. Barring mobile/broadband & insurances - I just don't like anything pre-paid! |

| ![]() How is this different from 4th and 5th year Extended Warranty? Depending on the running, customer can opt for standard 4year/40k or 5year/50k km warranty at no additional cost instead of opting for Extended Warranty. And on top of this, Hyundai is suggesting 5 year Shield of Trust??? Does that mean that 5 year extended warranty or 5year/50k km standard warranty has no meaning? Does Hyundai not trust the quality of its own spare parts? To me, this seems like Hyundai is trying to buffer the price shock that customers would get on seeing the prices of their spares/parts replacement and service costs. I won't be surprised if any SA cons a customer to purchase 5 year Extended Warranty AND 5 year Shield of Trust. What's the point of purchasing both? Items like clutch, release bearings, shock absorber components, struts, ball joints / bushes, wiper blades etc - are not covered in warranty. These AMC/SOT like plans propose to cover for such routine replacements. Gives a bit of a cushion against price inflations by paying in advance. Thats about it. If you don't need a replacement - the money is wasted. | |

Team-BHP Support ![]() ![]() | ![]() Wonderful offering ![]() Hope no-questions-asked replacements are carried out. Shouldn't be that claims are rejected & the customer is blamed for "riding" the clutch. Quote:
Take the extended warranty + this + service packages, and the only 3 things you'll have to shell out money for are tyres, batteries & petrol ![]() Last edited by GTO : 23rd February 2021 at 08:15.

| ![]() Looks like a very good offer. Is this available for old cars as well or just for new cars? Why I am asking this is, mostly people who are sure that the parts are worn out and need replacement will purchase this. And Hyundai will be under loss of all the customers go for replacement. This offer, in my view, would work on insurance principles. |

| ![]() Pretty sure their rust prone exhaust systems will not be covered. Rusting, after all, may not be considered ‘wear and tear’. Otherwise, this is a great move that comes directly in response to the success of Altroz and Nexon. Tata’s Gold AMCs are comprehensive and very well priced. They assure 100% peace of mind. I bought Gold AMC for 100000km on my Hexa, and it was money well spent. |

The main wear and tear items are brake pads, clutch, suspension and I see only brake pads being changed once or twice in this window. Does not look worth it to me, but good that at least there's a option for customers who are interested.
