Spark will have the exterior dimensions of the matiz, we've seen enough pics of the interiors (center mounted console et al)... now all that remains to be seen is the performance (1L 4 valve engine) and the prices!! C'mon GM... don't disappoint me once again (U-va was such a letdown!!).

Hey guys,

just saw a news flash on CNBC. Spark starting price at Rs 3 lakh. Really looks like GM have pulled the cat out of the hat with such a low price.

Also happened to meet an auto journo, a friend who was raving about the Spark. His take was the car is peppier than the Estilo/Wagon-R and Santro, high-speed stability is good, very good for point and shoot driving and ride and handling is one of the best in the segment. He didn't tell me the mileage figure, but did say, good enough to keep Maruti on their toes. Fit and finish too are of a higher order than the Marutis. Looks like GM have got their B-segment strategy spot on.

Does anyone know whether they would offer an A/T as an option like in Santro and WagonR?

Good Move GM. Just that they should now increase the number of showrooms and the service centers....being in the small car market now, they need to focus on these areas as well.

Engine is 995cc
Power: 62 bhp@ 5550 rpm
Torque is around 90 odd Nm.
Weight is 840 kg.

Poor Estilo, Wagon-R and Santro will find it very tough now.

Go GM Go!!! The pricing seems very well placed. Now we just have to see how the actual car is. I personally believe it will be good, as the Matiz never really had any major issues.

Sounds like the real "Zen" has landed! (Ok dear Zen owners, pardon my free use of the Zen name.)
