Just wrapping the moustache would make a world of difference to the design - IMHO.

More of a proper VW. A mini Tiguan.

Perfect! Looks like a proper VW now. Thank you @crazydriver.

By the way, can the TeamBHP representative (GTO, Volkman10, Crazy Driver) present in Rajasthan for the media drive, confirm with VW if we can opt to remove the front fascia Chrome/replace it?
Or is it better to replace it after market? How?

1.5 GT: Yellow car w/ multi-spoke diamond cut(?)
1.5 TSI: Silver car w/ 5-Spoke curved design
1.0 TSI: Red car w/ Polo/Vento wheels
Actually that deep red Taigun is a base variant (halogen headlights are a dead give away), accessorised with chrome add-ons. Otherwise base variants will get steel caps just like the ones that have been spotted on the road testing.

So just like the Kushaq, Taigun will also get two different set of alloys for the mid-spec and top-end.

EDIT: The Polo wheels were used for transportation purposes.

Somehow not very impressed with the safety slide here - talks about the usual stuff of using high strength steel structure.

Not sure if my understanding is right, but the basic difference in the structure of export Seltos vs Indian Seltos was the use of high strength steel structure for A,B, and C pillars instead of ultra high strength steel in the export version. The same seems to be the case in case of Taigun

If the compromise on safety is the same then I would rate Seltos slightly higher on the other aspects of the car. The high-performance variants will most likely be out of budget for me.

VW Taigun GT will have multiple trims.

GT will have multiple trims. Red one is the manual with an obviously lower spec, evident from the DRLs and on inside analogue dials plus no sunroof. Yellow one is the all bells & whistles spec. Both with the 1.5 TSI Evo

Taigun GT spec lower variant interiors with colour coded dashboard for the maroon/deep red exterior colour.

Yikes! They just had to mess it up with that shiny body colored plastic. Sorry to say but this is not a VW in any sense and looks more Chinese inside-out than even a MG!

Re: Volkswagen Taigun | A Close Look & Preview

This one looks fine but that yellow colour on interior trims might look a bit garish!

Will have to see it in person though. Will they be calling all 1.5L variants as GT?

Oh no, what a terribly cheap shiny plastic on the dashboard.
Can't believe VW has gone for this - a brand which stands for class, elegance and timeless designs.

So, this is what their deep market research came up with. I would be happy if they stick to CBUs instead of subjecting us to these crappy designs in the guise of 'Indianization'.

Re: Volkswagen Taigun | A Close Look & Preview

One thing I am very curious about is whether VW will do Skoda's mistake of not offering the top-end automatic with 6 airbags because if they don't, VW already has an advantage over Skoda despite the fact that the latter is supposed to be leading the India charge!

Oh boy. Why VW why? Just when I thought it can’t get any bad, they bring back the body colored interior panels which looked ugly on the concept car.

I hope there will be options on interior color.

This is exactly my concern here as well. Why is there no mention of Ultra-high strength steel in the safety slide? This would mean that they haven't used much in the structure?

So the MQB-A0-IN vs MQB-A0 after all is no different than Kia's SP2i vs SP2 in that case?

Yes, all 1.5L variants will have the GT badge on the grill. Check @Volkman's post above which has a deep red/maroon GT line with halogen headlights meaning it's a lower variant compared to the yellow one.

According to Evo India this red colour-coded dashboard is only on the Deep Red/Maroon exterior Taigun.

The coloured inserts in the dash are also offered in the Polo Mk6 and T cross in other markets. Don't see how everybody is surprised at the same being offered here.
