I expected it to be priced lower than what people were thinking, but this!! It's crazy! Might very well be the market disruptor with that pricing.
Had my own problems with the exterior design, but after this pricing, all that is gone! Just like what happened with XUV500?

The pricing brings back the same excitement the XUV500 pricing evoked the petrol looks like a steal especially when compared to the 155 diesel. Let's see till what time does this introductory price hold true.

If the AX3 and AX5 have automatic versions with that VFM pricing, 2011 will be repeated again. Just like XUV500 killed Aria, XUV700 will kill the Safari. Even Crysta will face the heat. That MX diesel version can be great fleet vehicle too at this price. Now I think Mahindra will pull the plug from Marazzo. XUV700 will compete with every thing in 10- 25 lakh range.

At first impression, seems like it is priced very nicely. Am not sure about this as I haven't seen its rivals recent pricing. Comments are welcomed.


EDIT: Just saw Safari starts at 14.99 lacs. Well, good luck to its rivals.

Hope it is free of niggles. We've seen more test mules than the previous 2016-2021 XUV500's on the road.

I feel like it's good but the exterior is same as the current XUV500.
While interior looks far better than Xuv500.
As Someone above said that front grill looks like Scross, I do agree that when I first saw it Scross came to my mind.
I expect that 3rd row to be usable as it is in XUV500 and not like safari. Even it's not usable in hector or alcazar. Mahindra have teased a proper 7 seater.
XUV500 and Innova(subjective, except KIA carnival) are only 7 seaters to me right now.
Also, I feel like the engine and transmission are same as xuv500 so there will not be any problem.
Let's see how well it will perform and how Mahindra is going to price it.
Too much premium for suv looking same as XUV500 does not make sense.

As explained by someone above, I do agree that Tata Safari needs refreshment and to come with more spacious 2nd and 3rd row.

I can see the prices are for 5 seater version only and for 7 seater version it will be around 50k-60k more i guess.

Mahindra's website says ESP is optional? Really?
