Can someone pull up a price comparison with the competitors real quick? Because my brain just cannot fathom this pricing.
Also, for the people worried about looks, I think the launch color has a greater play at that. I'm sure this car looks GREAT in black and other shades.

I think the waiting period is going to be huge. Great pricing by Mahindra. Surprisingly shocking.
A difference of 50k between petrol and diesel models of MX variant is great. But for the AX variant, it may be more than 50k. Today itself I had voted for the pricing, my vote went to 19 - 25 lacs.

Mahindra will offer the Bells and Whistles (Immersive 3D Sound, Smart Door Handles, 360 Camera, Blind View Monitoring, Electronic Parking Brake and Wireless Charging) as Optional Packs. Hence, they are able to price the car at a lower price point.

Just caught the motoroids live video of the launch event organised for the press folks.

AX3 variant is priced at 13.99 Lakhs
AX5 variant is priced at 14.99 Lakhs

Given the poor quality of the stream, which variant and what engine is part of this wasn't mentioned, just the price.

This is really promising in comparison to the overpriced examples that have been releasing into the market, our salaries aren't exactly scaling at the same rate of inflation or fuel prices.

Good to find indian manufacturers still keeping the competition alive instead of just raking in fat profits

For the kind of features and performance it offers, I expected it to atleast be priced in between 16-22 lakhs.

Now let's just hope that the final product does not have any niggles and the Quality Control is taken care of.

If one has to guess the prices of the remaining variants based on the above price list, they might be something like this?

AX7 Petrol 15.99 lakhs

AX3 Diesel 14.99 lakhs
AX5 Diesel 15.99 lakhs
AX7 Diesel 16.99 lakhs

Even if the above speculated prices are nudged upward by 50k more, they would still appear to be VFM. Also, judging by the posts on various social media channels, these prices don't seem to be "introductory", which makes them even more disruptive.

Edit: If it gets a 5* GNCAP rating as ram87Pune predicted in his post, then it might even make other manufacturers rethink their current prices.

They are out with their shotgun thirsty for blood and ready to kill the market. They might just wipe few segments beneath, let alone their competitors Safari, Hector and likes.

Base XUV diesel will be cheaper than a mid variant Creta diesel manual!!

Remember the lottery for the first gen? They will need to repeat it again...


Edit: From this reveal, it seems Mahindra is trying to attract crowd to try their petrol engine with these lucrative prices. The missing variants, i.e. the more powerful diesel will have some premium pricing it seems.

Woah!! Killer Pricing! There is a wide wide grin on the faces of my whole family
As much as I love the Harrier and Safari, Mahindra might have just killed the segment. We were looking at the Safari XZ+ at 23 big ones on the road, whereas M&M comes with AX5 Petrol (preferable for us as compared to Diesel due to the age cap in NCR) at 15 Lakh ex showroom. It has enough bells and whistles, hope they provide the 7 airbags as a paid option.

The only problem for a prospective customer now is the ugly front end. But then just blackening the silver accents in grill can bring back a bit of hidden grace. If you can go one step further and mask the DRL claws, it may look even better. The black variants can look absolutely menacing in roads. The front end seems to have a bit of Ford influence somewhere.

When do the bookings open, this has been such a satisfying day i still can’t process this pricing. Well done Mahindra you deserve every pat on the back. You deserve every single penny here now.
