A new car with more features at significant lesser entry price point

Will be interesting to see how the AT prices appear in the coming days, along with the much-hyped, top-of-the-line AX7 variant with diesel + AT + AWD.
My guess, it will touch the Rs 20 lakh mark, as an introductory price offer.

And this may seriously challenge the current champions - Creta + Seltos, with Safari having to completely rethink what it wants to offer now (me thinks, a Safari #DARK with AWD will have to be rushed to production urgently).

The car's pricing is very aggressive. The newly launched kushaq and taigun sales could be shadowed by this big boy.
The features are on spot to lure someone to the showroom.
Hope this car really keeps up to our expectations.

I can't imagine the faces of city dwellers who purchased bare bones Thar at those prices. Pretty sure quite a few Thar bookings will now shift towards a more sensible purchasing decision ie. XUV700.

Also expecting the XUV300 prices to be realigned soon.

Finally, are we expecting sub 10 lac starting price for the new Scorpio?!

The prices announced are for 5 seater Manual variants. Nevertheless, this is some "is the earth really not flat" kinda shocking pricing. We'll have to wait out for the REAL top end variant with an automatic transmission and all the mentioned features.

Insane pricing! Safari only makes sense for better looks, XUV 7OO just annihilates Safari/Harrier/MG Hector in terms of features/engine and transmission options and pricing! Looks being the only neutral point.

No, The XUV 500 is not available with a 5 seater variant currently. Infact I don't think it was an option ever.

This pricing is so shocking that it raises some questions in my mind.

Can someone clarify if this is really built on a new platform, or are they recycling the underpinnings from the XUV500 (marketing fluff aside)? Doing so would be the only way I can see how they can sell this thing at 11.99L, with the updated bodywork and interiors + tech.

The basic architecture does look similar - the wheelbase is up by 50mm (such extension is seen in many other models too) and the width is identical to the XUV500.

I had casually glanced over the XUV700 reveal earlier in the day as although a good package and good car this was certainly out of the range where I am looking for ~13L, Mind clearly said this is 20L+ OTR.

However these prices actually made my knees jerk, 5-Seater MX Diesel with optional AWD if possible, that's almost everything checked from my list. I am not looking at fancy gizmos anyway. Only thing left to check with my Mahindra SA is the safety package and what else is available as option.

I had my target list down to Ecosport, XUV300 and Bolero Neo, but this is a red hot deal right there.

Oh my that looks even more cramped than the outgoing one. I really hope that the middle row has a sliding function, or else it'll really be 2011 all over again. A fantastic package, but just not usable as a proper 7 seater.
