Insane stuff from Mahindra The recently launched VW twins, Korean twins, even the likes of Brezza and Nexon all have been targeted with this pricing. This may be built on the same platform of XUV 500. There is no other way Mahindra could have come with such disruptive pricing. Meanwhile all the other cars right now

Obviously not the same XUV 500 platform as-is, but with key structural updates they could have updated it to improve safety. Doing so would still retain most of the cost benefits of using the old platform.

This is done all the time - just a couple of examples - the local Kwid was updated to improve safety twice, and the Chinese Passat got some reinforcements that cost just $62 to add, which allowed it to pass some small overlap crash tests.

All speculation on my side - if anyone knowledgeable can comment, it'd be useful!

Mahindra will hit down everything from Skoda Kushaq, Creta up to Innova with the aggressive prices.
Hope the booking will open soon and also There must be price protection for bookings done in the first month (same as TATA did in past)


These prices look aggressive but Diesel Automatic 7 seater will command at least 1.5-2 lakh more than 5 seater petrol, I guess.

These are some really agressive prices. This is gonna definitely raise heat for other brands, primarily Alcazar and Safari, given the power trains that's on the offer.

XUV 7OO compete against Tata Safari. Jeep Compass, BMW X1 etc. are definitely superior in many aspects and belong to a segment or more higher.

Fantastic pricing!! Hector and Safari are definitely going to feel the heat from the XUV7OO.

The Kushaq, Taigun, Seltos and Creta have a different customer base, who look for a smaller lighter SUV which fits a small nuclear family better.

Kudos to Mahindra, time to get busy with the production line now

This is mind boggling pricing by any measure. Also goes on to show the fat layer of profits other OEMs are adding on the cars from lower segments (point being Creta pricing).

Will sure be a hit. Hope Mahindra has sorted out production issues. And won't make customers wait for a year like Thar.

Now, I'm thoroughly confused looking at Mahindra's lineup and am filled with questions!

The XUV700 starts at a price point lower than Scorpio and Thar. Wasn't XUV700 Supposed to be Mahindra's Flagship (intentionally ignoring ssangyong)

The base petrol is offered at the same price of Bolero Neo's top end

Some varients of XUV300 are more expensive when compared to XUV700 (those revealed as of now)

If XUV700 is being offered with a 5 seater option then what'll happen to supposed XUV500 that was to make a comeback?

Provided the shock pricing XUV700 has launched at, will it be safe to assume that the new Scorpio will start around XUV300 ' start price

(I know the varients of the cars pointed at may vary at being a diesel or petrol but given the small difference in Petrol/diesel it seems acceptable)

Man that's a killer pricing and tough times for the competition. I was surfing through their website and found something strange, the spare wheel is too punny for a car of its size. I hope it's a typo, if not tough times for owners who faces situations to use this spare wheel
