Re: Kia India launches new logo & brand slogan

Frankly both the logos are not inspiring. The stylized Hyundai H of the sister company which is so different and looking timeless while quite different from the older staid Honda H, somehow makes this new logo appear confused and in contrast to their tag line. While the new tagline is quite good, the new logo is "Movement that confuses" it seems to be going everywhere.

Re: Kia India launches new logo & brand slogan

Not sure why there is so much hype or fuss about the Kia logo. Does it really matter? This has become bigger news than some of major car launch. Agree and appreciate the fact that Kia marketing team knows Indian customers.

Re: Kia India launches new logo & brand slogan

Voted thumbs down.

KIA should have placed the logo in the old black oval or something which would have given it better visibility. Now it looks more like a sticker job. Have seen a video of a white car with a new logo where it is barely visible, god know how it will be on the silver shade!

IMO the execution in this pic is better than what they have unveiled now. Got this pic from the other thread, not sure if it is a photoshop job or one odd car.

Re: Kia India launches new logo & brand slogan

In a world where we have so many ugly logos designed by expensive designers, I must say that the new Kia logo is something I really like. The old logo looked very 1990s - this does look a lot more dynamic and modern. I think anyone who has heard of the Kia brand will read it as Kia - and I guess even in a market like India, there are not that many people who have not heard of it.

Re: Kia India launches new logo & brand slogan

It looks more like KN with an inverted N than KIA. It could also be KVI or VKVI, a bit confusing. The earlier logo was good enough I think. Anyways let's not judge a car by its logo

Size: 16.3 KB I too read it as KN; Kind of like logos that fit within a circle nicely - here is my attempt with 5 min powerpoint Looks a bit zen also.

Something like this with thinner lines for A; and instead of the middle line of A (like upside down V), put a small "i" is what I had in mind. Once Covid gets better, I do plan to find a much more artistically inclined sticker cutter person and get one made for my car.

Re: Kia India launches new logo & brand slogan

The logo reminded me of KVL - Kirchoff's Voltage Law.
While the new logo is confusing its application, at least from pictures, looks horrible. Someone who has seen it - Can it be plucked off by some fidgety fingers? I had a habit of pulling out stickers from my toys. I enjoyed it. I can't buy KIA cars now.

Very good gesture from Kia. These are the kind of actions which build long term brand value and goodwill.

Loved the logo. Looks very modern, fluid and sort of fast paced IMO.

Voted Thumbs Down

Not a fan of "Continuous line contour drawing". Essentially where you write without picking your pencil off of the paper. Rather appreciate the timeless black background logo.

Re: Kia India launches new logo & brand slogan

Kia Motors India changes its official name to Kia India

Having registered its new corporate name at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Kia Motors India will now be called Kia India.

The company has removed the word 'Motors' from its name and will now function under the corporate identity of Kia India Private Limited. The move is part of the company's new brand identity and brand purpose of 'Movement that Inspires'.

Kia has also changed its logo from a roundel to a simple text format. The 2021 Sonet and Seltos are the first models in India to feature the new logo. The company has changed the logo and name at its Anantapur manufacturing unit and will carry out the same at its dealerships in a phased manner.

Re: Kia India launches new logo & brand slogan

If they add 'Automotive' at the end it would make a nice acronym KIA. Oh wait.

Well, I would disagree to that. I know of 3 KIA owners who are simply amazed by the tagline. You know it when they speak about their cars.

Two in their mid 30's and other in the early 20's(convinced his techie dad to get the Sonet)

Being in mid 30's is where one usually is ready with finances for a bigger car. And its at this age all one wants is something high tech and "badass".

So KIA did hit its target customers with the tagline.

On the other hand for the one in their mid 50's - 60's would be more concentrating on the car and the tag line would be just a "tagline". So be it badass or movement, it would not matter much.
