PS : Use headphones for the finest creaks, squeaks and rattling that Mercedes is famous for. A C Class that I personally drove creaked like an old rusted ship over rough seas. Cheaper mainstream cars I that own(ed) have none of these ambiental music as does the best "of" nothing.

One would think so, but no, far too many Mercs with groaning and creaking problems, in fact this was one of the better interiors by their standards.

I've personally experienced the creaks in a moving C Class and a stationary E Class, the center panel is the weakest link, it'll groan when pressed and creak like something is broken inside when flexing back.

It may not matter when driving, but if one is shelling out 8 figures for basically a 4 seater car and much more so for a luxury Maybach spec, the interiors should be quieter than an acoustic studio, no tyre hum, no flex, no creaks, not even a door thump when shut.

The Audi A4 2021 I drove felt like it meant business, at a fraction of the cost.

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC launched in India, is priced from Rs 2.43 Crore (ex-showroom, India).



The GLS 600 features a massive 28-slat chrome grille combined with a host of high quality chrome across the SUV. 22-inch wheels come standard with optional 23-inch wheels available. The GLS 600 is also the first SUV with an upright bonnet star.



Under the hood, the MaybachGLS600 gets a 4.0-litre V8 engine that is tuned to churn out 542 bhp and 730 Nm of peak torque, while being mated to a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. The engine is coupled with a 48-volt system EQ Boost system which offers an additional 250 Nm of torque and 21 bhp output.



All 50+ cars allocated for India in 2021 have been sold out. Next set of cars to arrive in India in early 2022.

Till 2013, Maybach was an independent brand in the Mercedes-Benz portfolio. This is around the time when the aforementioned Maybach 62/57 were available with no 3-pointed star logos.

From 2015 onwards, Maybach became a sub-brand of Mercedes and that's why we have cars with a small MM logo on the side and the 3-pointed star everywhere else.

As good as the car is, I can't seem to look past the front bumper. The chrome mesh grille looks a bit over done and tacky IMHO. Mercedes could have really used a stronger bumper design to eventuate the 28-slat grille.

Ugh, this is really vulgar in my opinion, the Range Rover does luxury SUV best, the Cullinan and Bentayga are monstrous but this takes the cake with the chrome lashings.

This, to me, seems like a GLS decked up at a Karol Bagh shop. Those truck-loads of chrome don't gel well with this SUV's design, nor does the dual-tone paint scheme.

It comes with an aspirational brand name + price tag and hence, it should have takers.
