Its a no-brainer for me...On the one hand, the only advantage is a 5 speed (I couldnt care less for factory spoilers and skirts) while on the other you have a whopping 120 horses!! Like me, Dippy and Revvmaster have already posted in the Lancer 1.8 review, the Porsche gearbox is actually not all that bad...it can actually be a load of fun (Though no comparo to a slick 5 speed)

BTW Gto, how is the triptronic different from a Manual. Dip told me he could redline the car in every gear, so that should make it as quick as a manual.

Ya Shantanu

I managed to redline through the gears. But the gearbox is a four speed I wish they had the extra 5th then it would be interesting to see what it could do

Cheers

Hey Shan2nu,

Even though its possible to hold the gear for as long as you want it is still a "slushbox".....ie it has a torque converter.....which is a huge inefficieny (read as - loss of power).

Cheers.

I'd rather use the auto box than fiddle around with a 4 speed. Some people just don't know how to make cars. How do they even plan to sell that crap?

Good thing is.......the Lancer still doesn't have what it takes to beat the Vtec.

Well, it wasnt all that bad to drive. Like me, dippy and revvmaster have already testified - it could actually be a load of fun.

Though I would never buy one, I would not mind ripping someone else's 1.8 Invex all around Bombay on a lone saturday nite

Yea I totally agree with GTO. It always feels good to rip someone elses cars especially if the dud knows nothing about cars. Well there will surely be one Invex in town which has its run in period done by Team-bhp

Cheers
