Tata Motors has unveiled the Tata Indigo Advent and showcased the new Indica hatchback with a sporty look at the 74th Geneva Auto Show.

Powered by a turbo-charged inter-cooled diesel engine, the Advent is a contemporary crossover offering a combination of attractive features of a sports utility vehicle and a station wagon, a company release said on Tuesday.

Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata said the new Indigo Advent continued to demonstrate company's ability to explore and harness the versatile car platform.

The thrust of the company is to continually innovate and provide cars best suited for the changing needs of the customers worldwide, he added.

The new Indica hatchback, which has several updated features on the exteriors and interiors, and the Advent would be available in Europe later this year, the release added.

Why does Tata not showcase their prototypes in India, first?? Aria, Station Wagon, Safari 2 door, Indiva, Advent etc etc, all were shown first at "phoren" auto shows [mostly geneva]. Do they not want to see the response to these cars in India??? Tata cud have easily showcased the "Advent" in the New Delhi Auto Expo 2004.

Well Tata should consider showing their concepts first in India rather than abroad c ause their market here is bigger . Maybe we have to show Ratan Tata a certain Top Gear episode what??

Cheers

Re: Tata Advent [SUV + Station Wagon]

Those days TATA was keen on new segments but slow as an elephant in market moves.
This Marina Advent never made it to production but FIAT Palio Adventure 1.6 Made it.

It was launched and sold as the Marina Estate.

While you have picked out an old thread, my actual question to you is - how different is this from the Indigo Marina ?

We had the Marina. A car with lots of space, but limited by the 1.4 TCIC engine, the same interiors and front looks as the Indica/Indigo. There was not much differentiation in this family.

Then again, Estate/Station wagons didnt really do well in India.
