hey i dont believe that he got the Ferrari for free. If he's got it for breakin a record, FIAT shud have announced the prize before. Anyways what I feel is that he BOUGHT the car and to avoid duties he must have asked [begged] FIAT to say that they "gifted" it to him.

Y don't we contribute and get him a "Life". LOL

Maybe his name is being ruind "thanks to commercially minded morons" but why doesn't he give them a big "NO"?

I love him as a cricketer but, can't say the same about him as a person.

Regards...

That is EXACTLY what this is all about. The guy endorsed Fiat products for a fee. Now, instead of collecting that fee and losing 35% of it to the taxman, he got smart and told them he'd like a car in lieu of the fee (or part thereof). It's a nice car for sure, no doubt, why not own a Ferrari if someone is willing to give you one.

So here's the kicker, not only does he evade the tax due on his sponsorship fee, he gets a Ferrari, then gets the duty waived on it, manages to duck homologation, gets free gas from the petrol company...the guy's a genius!

He should market shares in himself, like Justin Wilson did. I'd buy some for sure, 'cause however you look at it, they should appreciate in leaps and bounds!

Common guys cut it off.Ur bashing aint doing anything. The story is long gone.If it was not him(media) someone would never even have noticed that a Ferrari has come to India without Duty and Homologation.Does Ferrari declare in TOI that they are selling a Ferrari in India.

No, but what does that have to do with anything? What most of us here feel put-off by is the fact that there are double standards here. One for the people who don't have crores in their bank accounts and one for those who do. So what if he's the greatest batsman around? Why should that exempt him from paying his dues like the rest of us?
