I don’t know about anyone else but given Ford’s recent silence about whether or not they have plans about leaving India proper, I wouldn’t want to buy their product just now

Not like this “facelift” is particularly interesting either…

Wondering if its an attempt to clear the unsold inventory by Ford. They had a killer product and made it as an aspirational product in this segment when it came out but now its lost its halo value.

These cosmetic changes including the one without the spare tyre may not excite the market enough IMHO. Ford sold some great cars including the Ikon which is still much loved nostalgically by old owners and the Fiesta Classic which my brother refuses to let go of even after 1L kms

Hope they stay in India and keep giving us great driver friendly cars,

why not they do something substantial like engine overhaul, 4wd, better HPs and NMs especially for the Diesel ones. They cant kick the can with cosmetic facelifts alone. Either they arent serious about Indian Market or they have something else in mind which is beyond understanding

I'd drooling at the thought of a 4WD Ecosport in India. My dad will no doubt force me into getting it.

2021 Ford EcoSport Facelift to Launch in September :

The new EcoSport Facelift will feature a revised front fascia. It is expected to get a revamped grille along with a new front bumper, new L-shaped LED DRLs and circular foglights. It will get new five-spoke alloy wheels too, however, at the rear, it won't sport any major changes. The EcoSport Facelift might get new upholstery and an updated infotainment system. Ford might offer some new colour shades too, including the Luxe Yellow colour sold globally

Looking at the revised front fascia it appears that Ford has decided to give Ecosport a proper moustache to reflect it's age and status as the old gun of the group

Anyways would be interesting to see if they do any feature jiggling or shakeup within the variants.

Spotted the facelift yesterday at the outskirts of Chennai. Except the front and alloys, nothing seems new. I don't know if it can be called even a facelift or not!

I received confirmation that my Eco sport has arrived and payment is being requested now. Not sure should I wait for facelift model or go ahead and buy this model only.

If you could wait, it's better to wait because:
1. A facelift is around the corner.
2. The brand leaving India may be around the corner :P

Only time has the answers to both these questions. So waiting makes more sense than betting.

Today got a call from the dealer. The facelift is expected to hit showrooms in September and the waiting period of upto 4 months is because Ford has stopped production of existing model. There are a few ecosports lying at dealerships and other than that no stock is expected to come in August.

That's the sad state of affairs for any company to be in.
4 months waiting for the car which is not even launched!
I can't understand, Why decision making is so slow at Ford?
If you want to stay in the market come out loud and make an official statement.
If not, shut the shops and leave.
It has been almost a year since we started hearing rumours about Ford's exit.

Ford's silence is deafening. The management should clear the air so that the potential buyers can make an informed decision.

I am very disappointed with Ford.
Total lack of effort as well as clarity.
With such a minimal facelift, obviously the Facelifted Ecosport 2021/22 (I guess its ECA - End Cycle action cause the present Ecosport is called MCA - Mid Cycle Action by Ford) won't be selling in big numbers.
This will in turn make Ford even more worried about new investments. They are caught up in a vicious cycle.

All that can save Ford India, is a massive effort and investment with all new gen Products, something like a mini-Bronco, and obviously a upright and Macho looking pseudo or proper SUV will bring good sales to Ford.

But looking at the present status, Ford India is dying a slow but agonizing death.

I heard not so great reports about EcoSport from folks in Brazil half a decade back.

It seemed like a great nice ride when I was out there, but later when I heard, it was being sold off by them friends.

Hows it been in India?

Just got a confirmation from Ford Mumbai dealer that the face-lift will have new headlights, tail lights, fog lamps and interiors and is planned to launch by end of this month.
