What kind of nonsense is Ford India up to? If you can't get newer vehicles here, at least don't ruin the old ones. The first one was a timeless design and the facelift upgraded the looks nicely (albeit quality went down a bit).

That grill... only one word - hideous. I feel the standard mesh grill used on the test vehicles was much better. The overall integration is very very tacky - both the grill and the indicators. Alloys are nice though. I really hope this doesn't become the last nail in their coffin here.

Why does the front fascia remind me of Angry birds? Looks like Ford has taken inspiration from the monstrosity of aftermarket grills you get on Endeavour. A very desperate attempt to either leave the Indian market or stay in it.

Oh my god. That is really ugly and may turn away prospective buyers. Glad that I picked mine with current grill in last week

Hope Ford equips it with Sync3 in lower variants, that could only be the savior !

Ford has messed up the front in the name of facelift. The grill looks ugly, DRL/indicator combo looks like moustache. And the black part on the sides of the grill also spoils the look. Current EcoSport S trim grill looks the best.

So, it's unanimous!! The facelift is FUGLY, Looks Aftermarket and rather than decking up the vehicle with features and improving quality, FORD does this horrendous job and then Goes Out To Other Manufacturers for SOS.

I fail to understand why American brands don't understand the Indian psyche and why they don't bring new products to India?

This is a minor update to the looks of the vehicle. It is not surely something that you do after this long in the product life cycle. This is not definitely what you do to your best-selling model.

Is this update just to keep the costs down till Ford is able to wind up its India operations?

In the international market, Ford has many impressive-looking SUVs. Surely you can borrow design cues from the bigger siblings.

Also, if you closely take a look at the upcoming MG Astor grille, you will find a lot of similarities.

With this update, I wish Ford has made some changes to the interior and got rid of the stupid FlyAudio ICE.

I am one of those who might be buying a Ford Ecosport depending on certain conditions probably this festive season. And as per my understanding and interaction with dealer anyone willing to buy a current gen Ecosport will need to try their luck because seemingly production has stopped at Ford and whatever stock they have lying around is available else you need to wait for facelift and that too will command a waiting period as production will not resume immediately.

In other words like the new face or not, if we want the Ecosport the facelift is what we will get.
The problem of grill can I believe be sorted to a large extent by replacing with the FORD grill found commonly on Ecosports around the country a.l.a Raptor grill.

As for the Freddy mercury style moustache/DRLs well not sure if anything can be done however making them even bigger would at least bring a smile on anyone's face when looking at the car.

Glad that I got a ecosport 3 months back. This front Grill looks ugly. Not sure, how they approved this grill? looks like it is designed as part of some school project.
