Week 49 is 12th December. Zac Hollis who leads Skoda sales in India confirmed again the launch will happen in January’22.

I’m very happy to see renewed interest of the VAG group towards our Indian market. After the demise of giants like Ford,General Motors and other conglomerates like Honda and Toyota being reduced to pieces now it’s only the VAG and Stellantis offerings which will give us that European taste in a relatively affordable price range.

It would have been great if they continued selling the TDi engines as they were more fuel efficient, torquey and reliable as well. Still, the 2.0TSi Evo with 7DSG is quite enjoyable as well. Anyways have a great time ahead VAG in India and I really hope your India 2.0Project gives you your desired returns. Thank you and I’m grateful for showing interest on us instead of giving up!

Looks like top end L&K variant going by the body Color bumpers and Chrome grills. Will be interesting to see pricing for the petrol version.

Is this going to be CKD? Looking at the Tiguan launch and so called 'introductory' pricing, I'm really not sure if we should keep high hopes.

If you look closely at the grill, it does seem to be having some sensors(right in middle) and could be for ADAS

VAG is not planning to offer ADAS in India in near future. Refer Audi's Q5 recent launch. Group tried testing it in India but got poor results.

Hence, just like ADAS was skipped in Tiguan even at that *introductory price*, Skoda will not offer it at even higher price point.

Of course! We all now know how VW used international material to promote Tiguan and even use it during digital launch, for sure Skoda will use all good looking material and in the end we Indian's will get some cheap alloys.

Those 19 or 20 inch rims with super thin side walls will survive the Indian road conditions? Look at how many BMW owners will complain on rim getting bend.

Most of the Rims are very decent offering and couple of them are polarising. It’s very subjective. But definitely all are very practical.

Agreed. Not asking for 19 or 20 inch rims. Tiguan comes with brilliant 18inch diamond cut alloys as well in international market. They could have offered that atleast. Same goes for Kodiaq. Will have to wait and see what Skoda has to offer.

Zac Hollis has said in an earlier tweet that Skoda does not believe India is ready for ADAS, so not expecting the same in Kodiaq.

On the other note, went to TAFE HSR Layout in Bangalore yesterday to get any information / bookings on Kodiaq. The lady triaging walk-ins had absolutely no clue on Kodiaq and insisted that there is no launch next month. I showed her the Kodiaq picture from twitter - she fetched her boss and he learnt of the production from websites and again had no clue of even the launch. Somehow the body language was very disappointing - they probably thought I am crazy. Skoda has a long way to go before they learn to sell.
