Re: Skoda Kodiaq 2.0 TSI Facelift to be launched by the end of 2021

Great looking car. Although, I like the design of the pre-facelift one more than the upcoming one. Earlier Kodiaq, especially L&K was very loaded so looking forward to what they will add or introduce other than engine.

On road price could be between 42-45L

No diesel for a heavy SUV? Weird, I can maybe understand for a small hatch like polo but this won't sell nearly as much as they expect it to with no diesels.

FWIW, the petrol engine on Tiguan Allspace seems to be more than adequate or even good. But I'd agree that diesel will do better to give that pull without revving much.

Here's a snippet from an ownership review of Tiguan Allspace:
- A smooth, powerful/ punchy yet a refined petrol engine offering a comfortable driving experience. It has the best on offer for someone like me with a soft foot as-well-as the aggressive ones that always want a bout of power / speed / acceleration on hand. And the engine/ gearbox combo is deadly.

Made a pre-booking at one of the Skoda dealerships in Bengaluru yesterday. The sales rep told that including me they received 7 bookings in 2 days (they started taking pre booking from day before). He wasn't sure about trim/price etc, the test car would arrive second week of Jan as per him.

Hello HotChillyPepper - I also did a pre-booking yesterday with Raja Skoda. New dealer for Skoda in Bengaluru. It’s like playing blind in flash

Seeing water bottle with dealer name first time!

My wish list for features in L&K:
1. Ventilated seats & massage seats
2. Matrix LEDs
3. 360 camera and same basic driver safety aids
4. Option for tan seats / interiors

As usual pune dealers are clueless about the launch dates, forget about booking. The PCMC showroom said that the superb update might come prior to kodiaq. I don't know what to say. :-(

I don't know who books a car without even checking it out, reading reviews or doing a test drive! As if one gets it for free as soon as he books it. Why hurry? Is it some emergency that one cannot wait for a few weeks or even few months? Does someone who can afford to buy such cars not own any other vehicle? Ridiculous!

To each his own I would say. And I don't see anything wrong with pre-booking, when the car arrives for test drive or PDI and one doesn't likes, she/he may cancel the booking. Plus the people going for Kodiaq already know what water they are treading into, Kodiaq was already on sale and nothing significantly would be changed chassis wise and as far as engine is concerned, it's already doing duty in Superb and Octavia and the gearbox is already there in Tiguan, Tiguan Allspace. I'm sure those who have booked the car are already VAG owners or have driven VAGs before.

P.S. I still regret not being able to get hold of an Octavia vRS 230 when it was available for relatively vfm 25L sticker price.

What aspect ratio is that? 50? Those tires won't last an hour in rough terrain like Spiti valley or similar. Surely a misfit for a 4x4 SUV!

Those are the same 235/55/R18s which were available with the pre-facelift Kodiaq. In the picture they have over-exaggerated the rims, giving them a really low profile when in reality they aren't.

Be ahead in the queue, as simple as that. If you don't like the car later, take a refund of your booking amount.

Plus, as Sachin said, the Kodiaq 2.0 TSI is a familiar machine already, thanks to the 2.0 TSI being used in other VW-Skoda cars.

Re: Skoda Kodiaq 2.0 TSI Facelift to be launched by the end of 2021

Visited a Skoda dealer in Hyderabad today, and the expected ex-Showroom price is between 34-36L. My bet would be on a single variant like the Tiguan, but at 34.99L.

Re: Skoda Kodiaq 2.0 TSI Facelift to be launched by the end of 2021

Some reports do suggest 34.99L but that seems to be pretty competitive considering it would be a bigger car than Tiguan with probably better features. Maybe the range starts at 34.99L and goes up for the L&K option.

My apologies for drifting off track here, but what Superb update ? Is there one on cards in the near future ? The Kodiaq has been officially announced by Jac for a January release. Can you shed more light on the Superb update please. The SA I have been interacting with mentioned that initially there will most likely be only one Kodiaq variant.
