Great effort and good shots!

Btw any insider tip off on pricing front? Iam spoilt nowadays as Maruti always hits the sweet spot on any new model pricing from Swift P on wards. Moreover, they need a hit model in this price as they have managed to give a success under 10l range.

Also Iam a bit comprehensive for two reasons:
1. This is a CBU! Nothing much there to cut prices
2. They have given a hit for sure just now (SX4!) and that should not make them complacent! ;-)

great work monkey !! nice snaps, the black looks a beauty/stunner! its got clean lines, and looks more or less like x-trail from nissan. the interiors look a bit crappy, but they atleast arent horribly beige. i do see the sx4 kinda steering out here too with audio controls and the like. maruti, good job.

This is not the American one. Had checked this vehicle. Interiors though look good are behind the CR-V in quality feel by some margin.

I remember Steeroid stating that the new Vitara left a better impression on him that the much-awaited (and dead) Toyota Fortuner?

Driven Grand Vitara in UK

This is my impression of driving the Grand Vitara in UK.
I had driven the 5DR 2.0l petrol models.
I found the Manual gearbox to be very notchy. It would never fall into gear smoothly like a Honda CRV or Toyota Rav4. The automatic gearbox was extremely slow to kick-down when you needed power. Box gearboxes left me unsatisfied. The engine was smooth and very capable of moving the car around. It never felt underpowered, though the gearboxes left you frustrated as you couldn't use the power. The interiors were pleasant and available in any colour you like as long as it was black. Upholstery fabric was smooth and felt very durable. Plastics for the dashboard and door trims were OK; similar to the Swift.

Where Suzuki UK really scored was PRICE. It was priced at £14-£15,000 depending on manual or auto transmission. A similar spec Toyota Rav4 would cost £20,000 plus and Honda CRV £19,000 plus. With at least £5000 saving (approx 25% savings) one would over look any imperfections like gearbox, trim plastics etc…

I would look at buying a Grand Vitara in India as long as they priced it comparably to the Honda CRV as they do in UK. Any smaller price difference and I would want to find the extra cash and buy the Honda (just my personal opinion).

I dont think GV can be compared with a Fortuner in terms of anything except both are SUVs! GV is a 2l petrol and the Fortuner only avlble in D4D 3l manual/auto option. Look at the price difference here in brunei.

Fortuner 4WD Auto D4D OTR 50k Sing dollors (x26)
GV 2l Petrol Auto : 33000 (x26)

But Fortuner interior spacewise is almost like GV in the 2nd row and it has two 3rd row facing seats.

Its fair to compare RAV4 with GV but still there is almost 12000 Sing dollors difference!

Folks, finally there is some activity officially from Maruti -
Check this out - Untitled Document

This is an indication of things to heat up a lot sooner than we expect - I remember the same happening in case of SX4.

Also, all new Endy is expected to be launched on 22nd June - seems to be a pretty confirmed date.

Launch dates round the corner

Folks, this is my first post on this forum, have been a visitor here since last couple of months. But the info that I gathered earlier today motivated me to sign-up to this forum (how else could have I shared this bit with you all)

If the pre-launch experience of SX4 is an indicator, here we have something for new Vitara Untitled Document

Though unconfirmed, Vitara date is around 25th June, new Endy would beat it by a few days (on 22nd June).

Alok
