ya i've noticed that. The RS, Rider and L&K featured in the ads have the same number. I'm sure atleast 25% of the imports in Bombay are jhol.

I wanna share some info on the number series registering in old years appearing in new cars. could be one reason where most of these numbers are fancy number which will be kept only for the premium registerers where they pay and get these number. If nobody buys in that year doesnt mean they will not be used in the next year. for ex: 786 is one of the most wanted numbers which u might get from the old series which nobody might have taken.

BA was not registered 15 years back. B was used 15 years back. BA is used only for cops and govt vehicles.

In Delhi, I have found strange reg numbers. I saw a DIL 1 and a DUM 9 or so (not sure). Both were new and fancy cars, the DIL 1 was an S class.

What gives?

Gears,

bikes in too !!!

ok this doesn't happen with the cars only. I have seen two different bikes ( one a Honda Fireblade and another a Ducati ) in pune running with same reg. numbers.
BTW owner of both bikes is same - he uses the bikes alternately ( how clever !! )

Same in most of the cases. And its not that they switch plates. They have 2 witg different fonts / styles.

I feel that cops should be given Auto mags to let them know new cars from old. That'll really help them recognise cars with fake registrations.

they are not odd numbers. they are reg no' transfered by people who feel that a reg no has been very lucky for them and coz the car cant work anymore, they save the reg. RTO charges hefty money for that.

in fact, an elantra in m colony has such a number.
