Re: Maruti-Suzuki lines up updated model range for India

I'm in process of booking 2022 Ertiga VXI CNG, upgrading from previous gen Wagon R VXI.

Obvious reason for zeroing down to the most popular aka practical MPV, is the MORE SPACE requirement (which is available in economical range in operational cost point of view as well), leg room space constraints during highway trips and due to fights between growing kids .

Normally, for a new vehicle purchase, as a true BHPian, we are always equipped with requisite info about vehicle. But this time around, I'm bit sceptical about new 2022 Ertiga CNG information available, apart from some front grill appearance changes.

Quotation as per last month was around 11+ lacs OTR + additional cost of 2022 facelift as per company's rules + no discounts at all + waiting time for delivery is 9 month approx.

I would really appreciate if any of our esteemed forum members can throw some light about 2022 model and suggestions/guidelines for this purchase?

The changes on Ertiga are expected to be minimal and purely cosmetic in nature: slightly changed grille, lights and bumpers. It’s not something that should make prospective buyers defer their purchase.

Apart from the grille there don’t seem to be any other changes to the exterior of the car.

Wow! MS are so lazy nowadays that they only bothered to cover up just the one element they changed for this facelift.

Re: Maruti-Suzuki lines up updated model range for India

I notice that the test mule has a CNG sticker on the rear windshield and also has rear wiper and front fog lights. Seems to have alloy wheels as well. Currently, CNG is only offered on the VXI, which doesn’t get any of these. Looks like they’ll be introducing a ZXI CNG as well.

Is it going to get 6 speed gearbox too? I've been told that some iteration of K15C will be launched with 6 speed gearbox too, in some model.

Shashi

The current Brezza and Ertiga gasoline models sport same engines and transmission. If the Brezza is rumoured to get a 6AT, it is likely that Ertiga will get the same too.

Re: Maruti-Suzuki lines up updated model range for India

Presently, K12 series gets duel jet technology (K12C) which makes it more fuel efficient. Given that CAFE norms gets more stringent since April 2022, we may expect Maruti to introduce the K15C engine with dual jet

The New (K15C) Dual jet with better fuel efficiency and emissions is being launched in the NEW VITARA Hybrid.

This system ( Engine+ Electric Motor) will debut in some of its upcoming products slated for India.

I don't think there is a Diesel coming anytime soon. The 1.5 DDiS was "BS6 ready" when they launched. The very fact that they have not made it "BS6 Compliant" is because they cannot. If they could, they would have.

Maruti has also made no effort to launch an EV.

I'm bit disappointed about this front grill so called update for Ertiga, if it is actually being carried over to production.

Earlier it was too much chrome stuff, now it's too blant with same grill shape.

Speculation teaser snap displayed diagonal kind of grill, identical with Hyundai style grills.

And yes, Even after all this confusions, I've gone ahead and booked 2022 Ertiga VXI CNG.

Re: Maruti-Suzuki lines up updated model range for India

I really wonder what is stopping Maruti to launch the XL7 in India. It even comes with a 3 point seatbelt in the middle row middle seat.

The side profile with bigger tyres and spoiler looks great.
