I think Fusion is the name.

A Fusion of car and SUV
or car and a hatch
or hatch and SUV.....

Just kidding...:-)

Taking help from Wiki again - refraining from making personal comments

Ford Fusion (Europe) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bodystyle : - 5-door hatchback

We can discuss why this should not be called a hatch just because it has big wheels and a higher than usual GC.

One way to look at it is that skoda will be happy with this pricing. It now has competition. We all know skoda were having a tough time matching the swift D's price point. This way skoda can actually just position it against the fusion.

Ofcourse the pricing is disappointing to say the least. Ford made a mistake with the fusion petrol initially and again now looks like it with the Fusion D. I thought they would learn from their mistakes.

Let's wait and watch.

And still be overpriced by another 50k! That car needs to be cheaper, if they want to maintain price difference between petrol and diesel, they should price the petrol cheaper further (however the Petrol is a 1.6 and the Diesel is a 1.4 what is the price difference between Fiesta 1.6 and a comparative variant of the Fiesta Diesel?)

Well, can anyone throw some light as to how the Petrol 4018mm became 3989mm in the Diesel. I guess they were pruning the Bumpers, the front Bumper does not look much different to me, does anyone know how to get to see the rear?

I hope the finance ministry has a look at this car, this is the finance ministry's idea of a small car for the poor man.

Why should an indigo/esteem/logan/ikon/accent not enjoy the excise cut benefits as well. Why punish people who want a boot as well.

Benefits? Let them manage some sales first.

One thing not related to this- Happy that modern diesels are trickling down to the hatchbacks.

Down south, anything diesel sells. Maybe, not a big success! But it will have plenty of takers here for sure.

Swift D will have some effect due to the very long waiting list it carries. Even though it is in a different category, for an end customer who is out to purchase a diesel hatchback Fusion D will certainly be in his possibilities!

There were no takers for Fusion Petrol even when they shaved off a Lakh from it, I dont see how there will be any takers for a 68 BHP confused vehicle where people dont know if it is a SUV (baby) or a hatch at a price point of 6.59 Lakhs, why wont one go for a Scorpio LX at 6.96 Lakhs where you get a true blue Indian SUV generating 115 BHP, loads of space and some wonderfull road presence.
