Since Mahindra is about to update it's logo and we have had a thread of the purported logo (which was ultimately confirmed to be a fake one), I was wondering if we could take a guess about the new logo (or how would you like the new logo to be) and share it here and compare it with the authentic logo whenever it gets unveiled. I kind of believe that T-BHPians might design a better logo than Mahindra's design team. lol:

This is my take on the new Mahindra logo

Explanation of the logo: Simple, symmetrical, easily recognisable design with a bold 'M' with an attitude which suits their product's rugged persona. A design which will not look out of place on the steering wheels as well as on the front grill and the tailgate of UVs, hatchbacks or sedans.

What if we gave it some muscle? Drew this very rough, on a napkin

Here is my take on it. I have thought about the confluence of EV, with the innovation of ICE and the rugged utility. I kind of like the slanted 'M' logo currently and have played along the same lines. This is a rough scribble in my notebook

Here is my humble attempt at designing a logo. Pardon my sub-par paint skills.

This because every time I hear Mahindra it seems natural to think of mountains.

I like this one. The left arm of the M looks like a lightning bolt (eVehicle) but the right one is straight (ICE)

I feel they need to step away from the letter 'M'. A fresh start need an out of the box approach. May be get inspiration from the RAM brand, Jaguar, Renault.
May be a bull head inspired by that of the RAM.

I think it would be great if they have the full word 'Mahindra' written in their font. It would look great. Jeep has it's brand completely written, I think Mahindra would look cool too.

Well said ! Their design team has been hyperactive and the "beautifully ugly" KUV 100 design brings out their talent full circle.clap:

Here's the Maybach logo that also shows M M ! The design team need to get refreshed after viewing such logos of reputed brands.

No since a Mahindra vehicles are more associated with off-roading and rough terrain, they should have some mountains in their logo.

'M' itself can be shown as a mountain, some creativity around the letter M to depict a mountain can be the new Mahindra logo.

Found a few on the google.(just an inspiration)

Some real interesting thoughts out here.

While we think about the new logo design, one should also think how it would sit with its current and future designs. IMO, a logo should be capable enough to tell a story and its heritage. Also they should consciously use this opportunity to move beyond the JEEP inspired grille and get other designs.

Two decades back as a marketing student, I remember reading a case study about how Hero Motors redesigned their logo post their divorce from Honda. It required significant media attention and a whole lot was spent just to drive the message home.

Today with the digital medium, the canvas is out there to tell the stories and make it worth. But honestly would Mahindra and Mahindra do it with the XUV 700, 500 and Scorpio launches ahead is something very interesting.

Mahindra as a brand has all the right emotions, but would it tug the heart strings of our citizens, we got to see.

Cheers!

1) A bolder rendition of the same design.

2) A quirkier rendition of the same design as Mahindra likes them that way. rl: May suit big BoF SUVs but not hatchbacks and sedans (i.e, if Mahindra launches any, in the future)
