Mercedes-Benz India has launched the all-new AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe, priced at Rs.2.07 crore (ex-showroom).



The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ draws power from the 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine that develops 603 bhp at 6500 rpm and 850 Nm of peak torque available between 2500-4500 rpm. The motor is paired with the 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission.



The SUV can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 280 kmph. As far as the Mercedes-Benz India AMG portfolio goes, this is the brand's fastest coupe SUV.



The GLE 63 S AMG is the first offering with a V8 motor to get the EQ Boost Hybrid system which is essentially a 48-volt unit. This offers an additional 21 bhp and 250 Nm, and improves acceleration and reduce turbo lag at the lower end of the power rev counter.



Inside, the GLE 63 AMG Coupe gets the dual-screen set up that runs the MBUX infotainment system with AMG specific functions, while the steering wheel gets dedicated controls to adjust the ride height, dampers, exhaust sound and more.



The GLE 63 AMG Coupe gets Nappa leather seats, sports AMG steering wheel, carbon fibre inserts and more.



The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe gets the Panamericana grille, twin LED DRLs, AMG twin tailpipe exhaust. The model also rides on larger 22-inch light-alloy wheels.



The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S gets Active Ride Control with Active Roll Stabilisation and AMG cylinder management.

Manufacturers are taking the pricing to some insane levels. One Year before, with around 25 Lac more, one could have the iconic G-63.

Porsche has silently increased the prices of Cayenne range by around 10 Lac and most others too. Not sure, what sort of guys are earning so much (other than stock market)

Didn't expect this launch!

I think they should have have gone with the SUV body type rather than the coupe. Yes, the coupe looks good and is sporty, but it does compromise on the practicality, rear seat comfort and boot space. These are the reasons for one to pick an SUV over a sedan.

I have a smash hit TikTok or Instagram Reels idea -> show a pic of GLE AMG to non-enthusiast spouse/friend, tell them what it costs and record their reaction.

Whether and where customers are earning or not should not be the basis of pricing. Instead being fair to the customer is most important!
Makes you feel so cheated that you don't feel like buying one even if you can afford it.

Currently the luxury car market is going on raising pricing way ahead of any input, currency or tax increase justifications.

There seriously needs to be an intervention by a new player who comes in with honest and fair pricing. I have my hopes on Tesla, they hopefully will price aggressively and this would have a ripple effect on the entire luxury market.
Although their plans are only for the Model 3 & Y, I hope they bring the Model S & X to give the germans a wack.
Bring the Model S Plaid at 1.5 to 1.7cr and watch the Germans deep discount their RS,63S and Competition packs

Genesis was rumoured to enter our shores soon. If they don't go the Lexus way and price their cars well for our market, they might get popular like their sister brands, Kia and Hyundai. Tesla's future here might be dicey, as most of the autonomous tech here will not be available here nor do we have the massive supercharging infrastructure, and when it comes to quality control, the Interior is a far cry from anything luxury.
