Is there really a need to highlight this? I feel like they are taking a dig at Maruti.
I hope this issue gets sorted in their cars.

I don't think that self-centering steering is being shown as a feature here. The source is from a third-party publication and not Baleno's brochure.

And even if its from the brochure then what's the harm? Because we all know that the Ignis and WagonR have this problem that the steering doesn't self centres. And by expressly mentioning about it, Maruti is just letting their prospective customer know that Baleno doesn't suffer from this issue. And next, I would like it Maruti solves the issue with the Ignis and the WagonR.

It is an internal document for SA/ Training purpose, and not being highlighted as a feature.

Price reveal likely to be on 23rd Feb. Unveiling and price reveal could be on the same day. Maruti Style of reveal and Media drive on the very next day.

Not surprising as a lot of these booking will be the ones even if the new model was not announced. I know a lot of people who were just considering Baleno without even checking other options. Expect it to sell ~ 20k units months irrespective AMT or CVT. I believe numbers will go higher than the previous gen, barring chip shortage challenges

Sad to see the CVT go. At least in the paper, it made Baleno on equal terms with i20. Now i20 has a clear advantage. It is the only hatch with proper automatic and full airbags.

Six airbags right from mid variant is a great addition. Suzuki can come blazing fast and take out the entire marketing angle of Tata if it wants. It has the technology. I have a feeling, it is now moving in this direction. As usual, the hard work of convincing people to consider safety has been done by Tata. Now Suzuki can flood the market with crash-tested , six airbag models and destroy Tata's advantage.

I hope Maruti has improved the K12N. As earlier Autocar report wasnt very encouraging on the dualjet engine performance of the earlier Baleno/Glanza

I don't think we can call a Torque-converter / CVT / AMT / Dual-clutch as proper when at the end of the day, they do the transmission change automatically. There are cheaper and costlier ones, there are simple and complex ones, there are smooth and jerky ones, there are less failure-prone and more failure-prone ones... But none of them are complete or proper, IMO.

Waiting to see crash test results, if good, Tata will have very hard times ahead. The Baleno with better crash results will kill the Tiago/Tigor. Altroz is safe with its Polo like (if not better)handling and build quality and the availability of diesel will keep it afloat.

I'm not sure if Tiago/Tigor will be affected, but Altroz might feel the heat and chances are high that Hyundai i20's sales might be seriously dented. Baleno might end up cannibalising Swift/Dzire as well.

Anybody seriously still thinks general Indian people buy cars based on a private organisation's safety ratings? Then Suzuki would have shot shop a long time back. Baleno sells appx 15-20k per month with a "Tin-Can" reputation. I don't know how much better they can do with "tech goes bold"

I should have been clearer in my earlier post. I was plainly taking about the new Baleno. Irrespective of the safety rating, the 'updated' Baleno is going to set the sales chart on fire.
