Seats: The front seats are very comfortable even in current Baleno. They are larger than even S-Cross.

Suspension: The current Baleno is known for stiff suspension and Maruti did modify the parts later based on customer feedback. May be the new Baleno has comfort oriented setup.

Brakes: May be Maruti has installed front brakes of Baleno RS. The new Baleno doesn't get rear disc brakes.

Clutch: The clutch is already good and so smooth, not sure what's the improvement.

Totally agree. That car was a hoot to drive. With turbo petrols becoming more mainstream in the hatch segment, they should give that a try.

Well, atleast Maruti is giving it in the top variant. IIRC, apart from the soon to be discontinued Polo no other premium hatch or even supposedly premium compact SUV’s don’t offer this.

You can easily swap the regular glasses with the UV cut. I think one of our BHPian has already done this for his Polo. Pretty sure it is an easy job & absolutely no amount of electronics involved in the swap.

The updates come from a person who is involved with the launch tomorrow. He is a good / reliable source. Seems Maruti wants to address a lot of things with the 2022 Baleno. Driving it on 25 this month..

The new Baleno looks really good to my eyes except for one thing though. The tail lamp extension resembling a tail is not to my liking and seems like an afterthought.

Without that 'tail'ed taillamp, no one would be able to differentiate the new and old ones' rear.

When manufacturers try to make midlife facelifts as new generation models, here is a new generation model that looks like a mid life facelift.

This looks to be a heavily reworked Baleno just like the international S-Cross. Doesn't look like a new generation.

I see an absolute apathy among a lot of manufacturers in offering LED turn indicators at the front/back, even though side RVM mounted ones are provided. :(

The silver Alpha (top) model screen grab shared by Bunny/ DSD cars/ 91wheels shows the same thing. I think they should be offered as standard from mid variant onwards.

New Age Baleno has been officially unveiled, Maruti is calling this a full model change, and the design language has been christened crafted futurism. Prices for the new age Baleno start at Rs 6.35 lakh and go up to Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom).







The interiors of the new age Baleno have also been comprehensively updated, and highlight features include a colour heads-up display and 360-degree camera.



Powertrain Details
- 1.2-litre K-series dual-jet engine with VVT
- 89hp at 6000rpm, 113Nm at 4400rpm
- 5-speed manual or AMT
- Claimed fuel efficiency: 22.35kpl (Manual), 22.94kpl (AMT)



Safety features include 6 airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD and Hill Hold Assist.







New 9-inch infotainment system features a voice assistant.





Total 6 colour options will be offered on the new age Baleno.



Some of the other features Cruise control, rear AC vents and fast charging, Multi information display, LED fog lamps.



Chassis updates on the new age Baleno include all new suspension, a new hydraulic clutch and improvements to the braking system.



While it is based on the previous car, Maruti say they've spent a lot in nearly every area of the new Baleno.
