Skoda has discontinued the Rider Plus variant of the Rapid. The same has been confirmed by Zac Hollis, Director - Sales and Marketing, Skoda India.

The Rapid Rider Plus was introduced in July last year at an introductory price of Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

It came with a few exterior tweaks, including a trunk lip garnish, gloss black B-pillars, chrome trim on the window line and decals on the sides.

On the inside, the car came with a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit that had Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dust and pollen filter, as well as rear AC vents.

The Rapid Rider Plus was powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produced 108 BHP and 175 Nm. The engine was paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Sad.

This variant was a fantastic value. To those on the fence, grab them while you still can - you might even get some clearance discounts.

The kind of driving pleasure with this engine at this price is unmatched!

Re: Skoda Rapid Rider Plus variant discontinued

Rapid rider plus is great VFM model. Specially considering the rumour mill that rapid might be replaced with a new sedan it might be a great time to get the car. I looked at rapid and kushaq in showroom and personally preferred the overall fit and finish of rapid to kushaq. So not sure how good this new platform might translate to with new sedans in pipeline when compared to old platform of rapid, vento and polo.
