Re: Automotive coincidences in India | Share yours here

Wow!! What a thread!

Coincidence No. 1 :
I had a super experience with the coincidentally similar number plates.

Purchased a Wagon R in 2007 with the last digits as 0387.
Sold it in June 2013.

Went on to buy a Hyundai Verna in July 2013 with no specific demands, but ended up getting a number: 8370.

Coincidence No. 2 :
4 out of 5 times I get the Traffic Signal to be Red.

Coincidence No. 3: On a side note: Recently bought a house with House Number 119 - which is my Date of Birth: 11th Sept. This is was just a coincidence because it didn't strike us until we finalized the deal.

Life is beautiful and full of coincidences!

Re: Automotive coincidences in India | Share yours here

As teenagers, me and friends would discuss about ultimate fancy number plate. We often concluded that CAR 8055 (Car Boss) would be a nice one. Few years later my dad bought an SS80 re registered in Kerala KLW 2787 when our Mark 4 was in garage for full engine and bodywork. I made an aluminum number plate for SS80 because it had plastic ones. The plastic plate was fixed to a metal base plate which turned out to be original white on black number plate CAR 8055.

Happened about 20 odd yrs back but still gets me thinking how did it happen.

Exchanged my old car

-Had to wait a week for delivery.
-Went to my friend's place to show him my new car on the day of delivery.
-My old car was bought by someone few blocks away from his house!

Re: Rumour: MG looking to take over Ford India's manufacturing facilities

Very interesting.

We have an unusual coincidence to report. This was back in 2000. My wife had a Maruti Alto with the Registration number KL 3 F 4724. I had just sold my Sumo and bought a new Toyotal Qualis. My permanent address was in Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta district in Kerala, but we were resident in Ernakulam. So, I sent my new Qualis through a driver to Thiruvalla to register the car. Imagine my surprise when the driver rang in the evening with the new number, which was KL 3 H 4724.

Interesting thread. So I was driving to my daughter's school and when I parked the car (Indica Vista) the neighbouring Ford Figo caught my eye, except for the alphabets the registeration was identical TN02 XX 2674. How cool is that?!

Very unique thread, suites my coincidence perfectly. This happened at my office parking lot at Bengaluru.

One day I noticed 4 Orange Dusters parked together (3 side by side and 1 in front):

One of my friend & colleague who also owns an Orange Duster noticed similar coincidence another day and shared his picture (4 Dusters together - 1 Silver + 3 Orange):

Pretty sure that there was 1 orange duster parked first and the other one decided to park near it for fun. And then the third one came and saw both and wanted to make it feel like that. Then came the 4th silver duster and said what the heck! I will park near them.

How do I know? Me and my friends do the same when we park our cars near to identical looking cars.

Absolutely, by the way the left most orange Duster is mine. Generally I go to office early and park next to the pillar so that other driver’s door is far away when opened fully. I would have chosen to park together even if I came after. That day all eyes were on these gang of orange Dusters

My Dad's s erstwhile RX 100 had the number as 5817 and my EcoSport has the registration number as 5810. This was an unexpected coincidence. That's why the car is special and the sync for travel

Does this count as automotive coincidence?

We have 3 families living in our complex and at one point all of them had a Baleno (I refuse to accept that Glanza is a separate car). Just goes to show its popularity!

Re: Automotive coincidences in India | Share yours here

When we got our first car, we luckily got a registration plate of MH12 DE 0xxx. The license plate was painted/printed such that the number looked like MH12 DE0xxx. The zero looked like an O making the number appear as DEO, which is my surname too. ☺️

Re: Automotive coincidences in India | Share yours here

My uncle had a Premier Padmini in the late 90's and it had brought him immense success. My aunt had absolutely loved this car and it was one of the first cars in our family. The plates ended with 7787.

A decade later, when the my brother was taking delivery of the new Polo, the plates were being screwed onto the car and my aunt had noticed that it had the same 7787 digits on the plates. She was extremely delighted and with the rain gods blessing us as we left the showroom, she believed it was a sign of things to come. I can testify till date it has brought us success by being a damn reliable German car!

Re: Automotive coincidences in India | Share yours here

I took this photo back in mid 2018 from my apartment's parking here in Netherlands.

87-GG-SG Renault Twingo was my car (now sold).
When came down from my apartment, I couldn't believe that I was seeing another xx-GG-SG - that too another Twingo parked next to mine!! Automotive coincidences in India | Share yours here-imag2010.jpg
