Tata Motors has silently added new features to the XT and XZ trims of the new Safari.
The XT and XTA variants now come with an air purifier, while the XZ and XZA variants get an air purifier, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a wireless charger. Other features offered in these variants remain unchanged.
Earlier this month, Tata introduced the Safari Gold Edition. It gets features such as seat ventilation for the 1st and 2nd rows, an air purifier and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Safari is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 168 BHP and 350 Nm. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

The XUV700 effect?
Even if the XUV700 is half as good as the hype it has generated, the Safari needs to really get its feature list updated (including upgrading the screen) to compete.
Harrier 1.0
Harrier BS6 2.0
Safari 3.0
Safari Gold Edition 3.1
Safari silent update 3.2
Dear Tata product managers, do speak to your product quality team to ensure quality is also baked into the product not just features. Your work on safety is commendable, please show similar enthusiasm on quality.
I think we should stop commending Harrier and Safari for safety till Tata actually gets them tested by NCAP. This assumed safety is giving the leeway to Tata for not getting their flagship models tested and preventing us from finding the truth.
Now I believe it's high time they should update the Harrier as well with features which came in the initial Safari, like rear disc brakes & electronic parking brake. And also, the Camera quality in both the Harrier & Safari need to be improved.
