Yup it's got a front-mounted 2litre Audi/VW engine but not really a collectible at this point of time. The car you have been offered is it Red in colour? If yes, then I know where the car is from & if I were to describe it's condition "Shabby" would be too small a word.

The standard 2000 was a wonderful car when it was released. I know of a couple of guys who still have them for the love of it, of course with a nissan diesel engine & all the other works. There is this one guy who picked up one car straight from the factory just a few months ago. CRAZY.

Yes my decision for the standard 2000 came a month late . there were about 10-20 new cars int he factory. So what one could do is take a old totally junk standard 2000 and put his chasis no on that and then hes all set.

And by the way there was one sd1 diesel that came out dont know where it went.

Pardon me for this ordinary question. But, are there any generic practices for a layman to use to ensure these used imported cars he looks at in a silver-tongued dealer, are actually the real deal? To clarify further, I mean shell and different mechanicals sold as the original car etc.
