Octavia Automatic

I am told there Skoda is due to release the Octavia in an automatic version in June.

I asked the dealer and they said "NO".

However when have car dealers been honest!

any ideas? is Octavia due to introduce a automatic version? if so when? Will it have a more powerful powerplant?

The Octavia sure is one automobile that unexpectedly clicked with the Indian consumer - Just look at the sales figures this 11 lakh car has been enjoying...that too with a not-so-far-away non-existent service network and brand value. Pricing the petrol and diesel options identically was a smart move, and the majority of diesel sales proved that a premium car buyer too considers running costs.

I think that a Skoda Automatic would be an attempt by Skoda to expand the range, than for economic reasons.

But no, I havent heard of Skoda planning to launch an automatic

As much as we enthusiasts like manual transmissions, there's no doubting that automatics are in. Most cars are offered with auto boxes and Skoda will not be left behind. Auto Bahn didn't tell me anything about the launch of an automatic version of the Octavia, but, I won't be surprised if Skoda does launch it.

that is what i thought too. the skoda auto might come with an improved power plant. only Q is when? can any of you petrol heads help get a date on this. the manual box is very very slick (better than the corolla atleast) but i am looking at an auto for medical reasons.

Sorry for bumping up such an old thread, but I want to know if the Skoda Octavia Automatic has Cruise Control. The VRs, Laura and Superb has it.

As of last year octavia automatic did not have it - because the automatic only comes on the 1.9 tdi - not the vRS - and it did not have cruise control
