Kia Sonet 1st Anniversary Edition launched at Rs. 10.79 lakh

Kia is celebrating the 1st anniversary of the Sonet in India with the launch of a new limited edition variant. Prices for the Sonet 1st Anniversary Edition start at Rs. 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

Sonet 1st Anniversary edition design highlights:

The Sonet 1st Anniversary Edition features a tiger nose grille with tangerine accents, front and rear skid plates with tangerine highlights, as well as side skid plates. The car also gets side door garnish and centre wheel caps in a tangerine accent along with an Anniversary Edition emblem.

The crossover is available with four powertrain options. These include the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor paired with a 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT, and the 1.5-litre diesel with 6-speed manual (in WGT configuration) and 6-speed automatic (in VGT configuration).

What's this orange colour (or whatever colour that is) obsession that Kia has? First Seltos and now Sonet. The orange accents look terrible. Red elements on GTX Plus variant look far better IMO.

Kia Sonet Anniversary edition removed from official website

The Kia Sonet Anniversary edition has been removed from the brand’s official website, which suggests that the special edition may not be on sale anymore.

The Sonet Anniversary edition was launched in October 2021 at a starting price of Rs 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom). It came with a cosmetic package that included tangerine accents on the grille, skid plates, side door garnish and centre wheel caps.

The Sonet Anniversary edition was based on the HTX variant. It came equipped with LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, an electric sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a rear parking camera and cruise control.

The compact SUV came with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 118 BHP and 172 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Kia also offered a 1.5-litre diesel engine with a peak output of 113 BHP and 250 Nm.
