My SA called now . Car has reached Bangalore stockyard. Will be available for display at Trident Sankey road and Advaith ORR Bangalore . No test drive until beginning of next week since car will be first given to local media .

I am really excited and eagerly waiting for the launch. If it goes as per my expectations (in terms of features, driving pleasure, looks, and last but not the least the cost ), Tucson might be my first SUV,

I have already booked Petrol Platinum White, and the tentative delivery is ~2-3 months.

The person at the showroom confirmed my booking was #30. Moreover, he said petrol model will be comparatively lesser in demand as compared to the diesel one, hence expecting to be delivered earlier as well.

I spoke with him today, and he confirmed the car will be available on 4th Aug

The SA contacted me earlier today regarding Tucson prebooking. Said the car will be in showroom and available for test drive August 5th onwards. I've attached the brochure he sent me incase anyones interested.

What I found really amusing is how they directly took shots at the competition.



Perhaps this Tucson unlike previous ones they have intended to market well and sell.

Perhaps this Tucson unlike previous ones they have intended to market well and sell.

They avoided creating a comparison of all cars against similar parameters like you usually see. Something like they do usually for variants of the same car.

I wished these guys could attempt to differentiate on the driving dynamics. Mostly focussed on connected car, and static features. Can't say how ready we are for ADAS, but I have often seen at least some guys looking for options to switch it off.

While its perfectly fine to take potshots at the opposition, the pricing of the Tucson will ultimately decide its success in the Indian market

Sad to see cars are more being compared as appliances or electronics. Rather than comparing on core mechanicals it’s all on connected tech, features etc. Unfortunately that’s where the future is now.

Just got a text from the SA I was speaking with mentioning "New Tucson launch is rescheduled to 10th afternoon from HMIL. Digital launch from HMIL will be on same day"

If this is true, it is a bit surprising to do this one day before official launch.

Disappointing. Only yesterday had SA called me to come and check the car on Thursday . Probably they might still allow to just check the car in person on 4th august .
Edit - SA called and confirmed that can’t see the car until 10th august .
Wondering how the 4th august launch date even came out in the first place .
