with the launch of the New Tucson, I am wondering whether Kia would launch the Sportage in India as well.

re: 4th-Gen Hyundai Tucson spotted testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 27.70 lakh

Hello All,

My sales rep told that they are waiting for the new price list which means they have already received the pricing from Hyundai & looks like there is some changes.

Note - I also asked how was the current pricing so he told the hike is decent not very high comparing the last Generation model but he didn't share any other information !

This just shows how serious Hyundai is for Tucson . It seems dealers are kept in dark till last minute. The demo cars are in stock yard as per some of earlier updates and now they have to keep it that way for another week. Maybe the Hyundai pricing team, looking at the bookings (which seems to be on higher side), are working on revising the prices. I'm hearing range of 40-41L OTR Bangalore for top end variant(AWD) and they might want to justify with ADAS and media reviews when they make it official. For all you know, Hyundai might provide only the Diesel top end spec for media drive as that is where the engine is going to be peppy along with ADAS features which they have been stressing so much.

It's taken Hyundai 2 years to get the 4th-gen Tucson here. Two agonizing, patience testing years! The Kia Sportage can wait for it's moment to shine for sometime later. Let's just be glad the new Tucson is (almost) here now and revel in that fact.

Reading between the lines: We are going to have a ridiculous price please justify it using ADAS.

By the way, when are they going to disclose the price? Does it say Aug 10th?

If this is the case then I would drop out for sure. Would rather wait for my german booking to materialize.

Perhaps this Tucson unlike previous ones they have intended to market well and sell.
Check the comparison with Tiguan. None of the points are generally considered as deal breakers. They mentioned availability of diesel engine as an option when the comparison could have been made between Petrol Tucson and Petrol Tiguan. Petrol car customers will compare petrol to petrol, not petrol to non availability of diesel option. laughable. none of the other points are good. 64 ambient light options... best in segment! wow

I too get a bad feeling there going to compete with the C5 in pricing for the AWD model, just as they're projecting in the selective comparisons. In that case they'll have to use the same ADAS to avoid crashing into the same bumps that the C5 is (= poor sales). Can we have a non ADAS diesel AWD model please, Messrs Garg & Park?

Since when did the Tucson become "Iconic" ? Or is this just marketing speak from the company that labeled the Creta as the "Perfect SUV" and later on the "ultimate SUV"? Then the hyperbole makes sense.

Demand is more than supply already? And it is just 3000 bookings, a big chunk of who will bail out once prices are announced? Seems like another Kodiaq like situation cropping up

Very true! If they price it around 40L which is pretty high considering the last Gen tucson pricing.I would definitely cancel my booking. Also the problem is we have very limited choice within this price bracket.
