All the guys ...What price range do you expect the Civic to be in ?
Okay as a reference point , whats the base model going to cost ?

Do you think a starting price of 9 L will be good ?

I pray they would eventually bring the Type R, then it would be history indeed as few cars in its range can match an engine which develops 100bhp per liter and a lightweight 1300kg body.

Hi,

I think the base model will be between 7 - 8 lacs and it will compete with Optra vey much. Though Base model in us is around 14,000 $ around 6.3 lacs.

Cheers

That equates to a poor Power to weight ratio of just 77bhp(76.92 to be precise) not even close to the OHC 1.3L leave alone the lengendary Vtec OHC!

Sorry for not reading properly! The car is said to be 140bhp with a Vtec mill and 1800cc! Hopefully this car will relive the Vtec hype created at Team-BHP!

Sorry to reply to last year thread but couldnt resist, i dont think so there is any kind of hype about Honda vtec at t-bhp, its a gem of an engine you accept it or not and all vtec owners loves it & here i am not talking about my engine but a 1.5 Sohc vtec.

140hp from 1.8L is fantastic BUT Honda always concentrates on BHP forgetting about torque. The Canadian Civic has 140hp@6300rpm and a torque of 128lb-ft@4300rpm. Thats pretty high up in the rev range. The only car whose figures I have at the top of my head are the new Jetta. 2.5L 5 cylinder 150hp but torque is 170lb-ft@3750rpm. I am sure VW could have extracted more HP out of the engine at the expense of torque but probably they decided to balance out things. Before I get shouted down for saying something remotely against VTEC, I am not too impressed with the 2.5L mill of the VW.

All you ever wanted to know about the Vtec, here it is, the first article tells us how complicated that SOHC Vtec engine is.

Its coming next month over here but i have heard it had some wadrobe malfunction. The 205s are now 195s, 16inchers are 15 inchers, the 140bhp is now 12xbhp, et all. Really sad. Wheras companies like Hyundai give you similar features/specifications as else where and they are mocked at
