i doubt if they get the "new" Lancer they will lower the price. They might pit it againsty the Octavia/Corolla.

The biggest problem about Fabia is that we simply cannot predict when it will be launched. I think it was to come some 3 years back, and who knows it might take another 3 years. Any inside dope on when (latest) it will be launched?

Has to be a Fabia.. The city is not as solid as a Skoda.

HM is happy with Lancer selling 200-300Units a month. They say its a prestigeous car..***

Is it logical to compare a car in the market to a car which has not been launched yet??

I remember reading end 2005 as a potential launch date. but then it was supposed to have been launched ages ago! Anyway, there was a review of the fabia Sedan and the Estate in an issue of overdrive last year!

Sorry for my ignorance, but which Skoda Fabia is entering the Indian market?
I've heard its for around 7 lakhs, so I guess its the Fabia Sedan.

Fabia

Fabia Combi

Fabia Sedan

P.S. And speaking about HM, I think they have crossed the time for upgrading or replacing the Lancer. Its just too sick. They don't even offer a "sports" version OR a "rally" version.

Yeah, its going to be the Fabia sedan. God knows when its going to come ! I remember having read in ACI a couple of years back that Skoda was planning to launch a budget Octy with a 1.6L petrol engine...what ever happened to that! Or may be it was just the mag's speculation.....

Okay now picture this. If I'm not wrong, the current Diesel Octavia gives around 15-18.9 kmpl. So if the Fabia is out with a similar nice mileage engine, I doubt people would ignore it. I mean its gonna catch everyones eyes and it can sell like hot cakes. Compare it to the New City, which gives 15 kmpl.

Both companies have a good reputation and both are quality and customer conscious.

My vote goes for the Skoda Fabia Sedan. Although the rear looks sick in the pictures, even the NHC looks sick from the rear. I have to see this car in the flesh to comment properly on its rear looks.

I feel the NHC looks better in comparison to Fabia from the rear..from the front, both are equally hopeless But NHC is hugely comfortable & spacious. Fabia is severly TIGHT at the rear!

I disagree here. If fabia has lesser space than octavia, which means i cannot sit in front passengers seat, it will be out of question. Some lack of space is okay, but when a car becomes uncomfortable it has to be given a go. If you are 6'2" or 6'3" you have a very limited choice in India for a car.

A Fabia it is......Its a Skoda afterall. And moreover,i'd rather buy a Petra over that crappy NHC.It just sucks!!!

p.s : No offence to the NHC owners here. Its just a personal opinion.
