Does it come in black? I dont remember seeing the black colour in the list. Would have looked killer. :)

Hoping to see a serious improvement in quality compared to the Kushaq! Almost on the verge of losing all my interest in the MQB-A0-IN platform products after seeing this video posted by BHPian rideon74 regarding the horrible rattles in his Kushaq.

No. This is the Carbon Steel option.

Same here. Slavia 1.5L DSG at around 20L onroad seem pretty awesome package provided they improve their quality overall. I am counting on official Teambhp review which focuses on materials used on Slavia and rattles/squeak related issues.

Two more pictures of the same car at the dealership. Carbon Steel colour is quite a looker.

I like everything except that stance. Personally I wouldn’t prefer that much GC in a sedan. If I was buying would have definitely lowered it and put in a bigger set of wheels.
But then this higher GC will make it more practical and push for more sales.

The high GC does kill the rear look due to the exposed fuel tank and exhaust which are easily visible. Took a picture of the rear profile during my visit to the showroom (Yes, Cars have reached showrooms here in Mumbai and available for display).

Comparing Build to Kushaq
- Everything is sturdy inside, fit and finish is noticeably better.
- Doors felt slightly heavy
- Better quality of Plastics, especially the AC Vents, Roof liner and dashboard/centre console buttons(Hazard lights, Ventilated Seats, TC/ESP)
- Rear seat comfort is almost Octavia like! There is a good recline angle and ample of leg room, however headroom is a bit limited when compared to Kushaq.

Overall the Slavia felt a better proposition over the Kushaq thanks to its size, superior interior quality and slightly better build. If it drives as good as Kushaq (which it should if not better), Skoda has a winner in their hands provided they price it right. The SA said test drives will be available end of February.

Silver color of the fuel tank stands out a lot, should have been painted dark.

City for reference (darker fuel tank doesn't stand out as much)

The rear exhaust didn't look so prominent in the team-bhp review pictures.. Plus the fuel tank was painted black..Not sure what feedback skoda took from the first preview discussions..

Skoda Slavia start of the production event pictures released by Czech Embassy New Delhi on 5th February.

Quote:

Speaking at the small start of production ceremony, Chargé d'affaires of the Czech Embassy Mr. Roman Masarik expressed his conviction about popularity of the high quality new model which got a beautiful name "Slavia". Slavia reminds the Czech word "sláva" which means "fame" or "glory".

The wait is over. Production of the brand new Czech car ŠKODA SLAVIA started at the cutting-edge Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd manufacturing facility at Chakan near Pune in the Indian State of Maharashtra. This is the only place on the planet where this brand new model is produced. Under the umbrella of the German Volkswagen Group, the Czech and Indian experts developed the all-new midsize sedan for India as well as for export to other countries.
The production is consistent with the Indian Government Make In India programme.

Honestly, I doubt if this will be visible unless you get on your knees and crane your neck to see. So might not be much of an issue.

We stopped buying sedans because of their poor ground clearance. Now that Slavia solves that, some of us complain of it having too much ground clearance. Poor Skoda. :D

The tank and exhaust are quite conspicuous in the video of the car on road, Refer below - Timestamp: 0:51

I don't mind the high GC but the implementation could have been better from a company that prides itself for its 'emotive' and 'dynamic' design language rl: City has a similar ground clearance but I don't see a problem there.

I couldn't find exact numbers for City, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have the same ground clearance as Slavia. City is atleast less than 10 - 15 mm than Slavia.

Skoda India announces that Slavia will be available at the dealerships across India.

Test drives to begin soon after the completion of media drives.

The package is looking good. I don't expect Skoda to go with aggressive pricing on this. Last I heard they had planned for 2.5k units per month. If they get more interest then the Slavia may also get "sold out" for 2022, which I am sure they don't want :disappointed
