Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Finally received an email from Mahindra. Delivery if for the month of March but comes with a rider (more precise delivery date as they inch closer to the promised date). I am sure they will further delay by minimum 2 months going by their track record.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I had booked a AX7 L Diesel AWD AT Midnight Black on 7th October via the dealer. Just now got an email from Mahindra for an estimated delivery month of April 2022. Well I kind of imagined it would be feb-march but April is fine with me. I am in no hurry as my 65k run XUV500 AWD AT is serving me well so far. But overall this looks like a classic case of overpromising and under delivering which is like typical Indian corporate.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I have been given a delivery date of Aug'22 for AX5 Diesel 7 seater manual variant. What a waste of time ! I was among the few who managed to book within 30 minutes of Day 1 (Oct 7) when most of users were facing issues to access the booking portal.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Finally got a reply on delivery date. I booked on 7th oct - AX7 L DSL MT and tentative delivery is in Jul’22. This is like ~10 months of waiting period. I was hoping for Mar-Apr’22. Disappointed!

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Called up :- 18002096006, got through in a couple of minutes.

Mahindra executive gave me a tentative delivery date of March 2022 for my MX 5 seater petrol.

I am in no hurry to get the delivery and am assuming by March I will get a model manufactured in 2022 and with most niggles sorted!

Wait period of 8 months! Absolutely nuts!
There seems to be a randomness to the delivery timelines. We kind of did a group booking 3 families the exact same variant and color (AX5, Petrol Automatic, Midnight Black). But my booking happened online on the 7th itself and the other 2 managed to book online on the 8th.

Guess what, the delivery timeline for the 8th booking is before my booking (mine is May 2022 and the other one is April 2022). How does one explain this when the variant and color are exactly the same?!

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I booked AX7 L AWD D AT Midnight black on 7th Oct from Ananth motors (East Bangalore) and disappointedly received delivery month as September 2022.

Not sure if I can wait for another 10 months for XUV and if Safari comes out with 360 camera then I will go for it.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

At the risk of sounding like a complainer... This now looks more and more like a crowdfunding project on kickstarter/indiegogo.

Showcase the product with huge marketing, get all the bookings and trickle deliver the car to few (based on no conceivable logic). They claim to have hired top consultants to figure this out, but it didn't take a layman to see how odd the delivery dates are. No link to variant /color /booking dates. They seem to be all over the place.

For how long will Mahindra play this game of pushing dates and responsibility (global chip shortage /consultant /dealer). It takes integrity to stand up and accept that they messed this up.

Fyi: I had booked on the first day Oct 7 (with actual booking amount paid in August 2021). I do have an old car in hand, so I won't claim that this is an urgent need for me. But waiting for 1yr for a booking done in 1st hour, sounds absurd by any imagination.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I got my tentative delivery month - April 2022. Booked om the 7th. I'm slightly disappointed- February would have been perfect. March would have been OK too since it's my month of birth and I could have called it my birthday treat.

I sold my Honda City in Jan 2021. Booked safari and cancelled in June 2021 hoping this would be a game changer. This delivery date experience has left a bad taste in my mouth.

I suppose I'll just wait and check out the Jeep 7 seater and the Kia 7 seater and end up booking the Hector plus (while feeling a little sad).

With this logic, this entire algorithm logic seems to be a bluff. If that is what top consultants in the world have come up with then its high time to look into their salary. Even I can become a consultant now.
