re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2021 | EDIT, it's the Mahindra XUV700

My vote is (also) for the XUV 700, simply because the package is well rounded and pricing is definitely value for money and the car packs some features that none of the mass car manufacturers have introduced yet in our market and Mahindra definitely deserves appreciation, they've definitely caused market disruption with this product.

I just hope niggles and issues identified in the initial batches are fixed quickly and production capacity also scales up to meet the demand.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2021 | EDIT, it's the Mahindra XUV700

I voted for the XUV 700. I am happy to see an desi manufacturer give us a product that boasts of what is what features of the automotive world. Yes there are short comings in the products, and then there are these design choices that I am not a fan of. But Mahindra has come a long way and is at a point where they can offer pretty decent VFM products that can give competitors a run for their money. I wish they went one step ahead and started giving products that can compete with the Europeans in terms of quality. Seeing what Mahindra has achieved so far, that day is perhaps not too far away!

I'm a little late to the party but my vote was for the clear winner here as well: the XUV7OO!

For me it was Mahindra (again) pushing the envelope by bringing tech from a few segments above to the aspirational common man of India. It's incredible what they've achieved in terms of safety as well. As for the quality aspects and niggles, we're with you hamesha, Mahindra; you're on the right track and I personally can't wait to see you scale new heights time and again!

My Vote is for Skoda Kushaq!

I know EPC and all that but of all the options available and being a car enthusiast who loves driving, no other car in the list gives the kind of experience and joy you would get from a Skoda. My analysis is based on the test drives I have done for a few of these and also having pre-booked the Slavia! So you know where my vote is for next year

Am formally announcing what became obvious within the initial days itself = the Mahindra XUV700 is the Team-BHP Car of 2021. Mahindra hit the bull's eye with this one .

63% of BHPian votes - wow!

The 2020 Team-BHP COTY was a Mahindra as well (the awesome Thar).

Also, the Team-BHP COTY 2011 was XUV500, again with a dominant margin of 56%. It did eat into whatever low sales that Safari had that time.

Let's see how the new age competition between XUV700 & 2021 Safari plays out to be.

Congratulations Mahindra! It will be legendary if Mahindra can do a hat-trick with Team-BHP COTY. Will new Scorpio wow us like the XUV 700 did? We need to wait and watch.

Just noticed that top 4 are Indian manufacturer's products. Definitely speaks volumes about desirability of improved products from Indians (Mahindra, Tata & Force).

Re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2021 | EDIT, it's the Mahindra XUV700

I’m appalled by the way winner is selected here, though it’s done in the most democratic manner. Nothing against the TeamBhp management team or anyone part of the teambhp forum.
XUV700 is not even 2 months into delivery and many teething issues are yet to be addressed. Many pictures from PID shows poor quality of craftsmanship and uneven gaps.
Of course they hit the bullseye with pricing and features, however most of the voters have not even taken a TD of the vehicle that is voted as ‘THE BEST’.
The 2020 car of the year ‘Thar’ amassed huge bookings and soon most of those were cancelled. It’s certainly not the best out there. Anyways, I rest my case here.

Congrats XUV700!!

Wow, 3 Team-BHP COTYs in last 4 years.
2018 - Marazzo, 2020 - Thar and 2021 - XUV700.
IMHO, XUV300 in 2019 was also a good contender.
Congratulations Mahindra.

Congrats XUV700!!
One can also say that for any new product launched and nothing stops a member for voting for lets say the new Safari etc. I voted for the XUV 700 as well for the same reasons you mentioned, it scores over others in what it is offering for its price range!. Lets continue this discussion a year later when the XUV 700 sales numbers come in.

Congrats XUV700!!
I Agree, its a freshly baked product and too early too be awarded as 'Car of Year 2021' though it has full potential to become one, BHPians are impacted by Marketing

Looking at initial leaks, I will be not surprised if it's Scorpio next year :-)

Re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2021 | EDIT, it's the Mahindra XUV700

Congratulations XUV 700 for coming out as thumping winner and M&M for the vision and execution, so far. This will grow the expectation of a thoroughly tested product for the proud (and patient) owners.
I was wondering, per several reports the semiconductor shortage would continue for 2022 and probably 2023 as well, the calculated delivery ETA would be further delayed and how many would actually cancel their booking and move on to other cars - thus the actual delivered number would probably just a % of booking - I am guessing anything between 50% - 70%.

Congrats XUV700!!
First of all , the Thar is selling in good numbers consistently since it's launch i.e. 3500 nos approx and for a niche product that's a bang!
Secondly , the Thar still has waiting periods extending up to 6 months or so and it is the best off road vehicle below the Wrangler only which costs a whooping 65 Lakhs or so .
And lastly , given the exposures of reviews ,impressions ,photos and test drives in this age of social media there is a little chance that things are radically different when you actually visit the showroom to see vehicle itself , so though many people haven't taken the TD of XUV700 their votes are not far off either I think .
Hence beg to differ from your opinion and rightly so . Post to be taken in right pretence
