re: Scoop! Skoda Kodiaq Facelift prices leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 34.99 lakh

Wow it doesn't cross 50 even for L&K. The earlier 2.0 TDI L&K was 36.79 lakhs ex showroom and now the new one 37.49L ex showroom.

You get a more powerful 190PS TSI engine, ventilated seats and the massive change which is DCC.

Not bad at all.

The Sportline seats are so yummy I have been drooling over the keyboard since yesterday.

On road Bangalore should be 47L for L&K.

Skoda seems to have learned it's lesson from the Kushaq and Octavia pricing debacle. This is a pleasant surprise. L&K OTR price of last gen Kodiaq in Bangalore was 43 Lakhs IIRC. The new Kodiaq may well be 46-47 lakhs OTR which appears to be a fair pricing, especially when Fortuner is now half a crore plus and Legender touching 55 lakhs.

Priced reasonably. They managed to set exorbitant expectations and made people happy now. Good one, Skoda . You have managed to market it successfully - under commit and over deliver.

TPMS not available as standard is a concern
Colour options for each variant is not clear

re: Scoop! Skoda Kodiaq Facelift prices leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 34.99 lakh

L&K seems to be quite reasonably priced considering the features it gets above the Style/Sportline. The Sportline looks the best (specially black interiors) but only gains the Virtual cockpit over the Style variant. The color options do seems to be weird as it might force someone to pick a variant based on the color rather than the features wanted by him/her.

Kudos to Skoda on having most of the features as standard across the board specially the safety equipment (bar TPMS and Hill Descent) and the sound system. Infact Audi Q5 has 6 airbags in the lower variant and 8 airbags in the higher one.

re: Scoop! Skoda Kodiaq Facelift prices leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 34.99 lakh

The Sportline trim loses out on a few essentials like TPMS and ventilated seats but it’s definitely the pick of the range for it’s VFM quotient and not to forget the sweet black interior!!

Pricing compared with the competition:

Nicely priced and somehow I feel Skoda is more serious for Indian market than VW in atleast premium range. Looking at Tiguan features/ pricing/ not putting efforts to have right model pictures in brochure just shows how they are looking towards Indian market. I hope they offer more colour options(exterior/interior) across variants down the line.

re: Scoop! Skoda Kodiaq Facelift prices leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 34.99 lakh

This is excellent pricing indeed for what it offers and will be even sweeter once the inevitable discounts start rolling in. I think the only minor niggle is some posts which suggest these 2.0 TSI engines necessarily need 95 RON or similar fuel ideally. That’s a bit of a cost as well as inconvenience.

But other than that - well done Skoda indeed. I hope it attracts the numbers it deserves. We need brands like Skoda and VW as well to remain relevant in the Indian market.

re: Scoop! Skoda Kodiaq Facelift prices leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 34.99 lakh

Any idea on what OTR pricing will be for Mumbai for the L & K variant ?

Also I already own an Octavia and Superb.

So can I expect some sort of discount ? Or is my expectation unreasonable ?

Do new cars get discounts / loyalty bonus etc ?

Really learning loads from these treads and guidance is required superb.

Thanks a lot guys 👍🙏

Though RON95 is mostly available in major cities via IOC but the challenge is when you travel long distances. Even though IOC app display XP95 availability at some pumps it will be stock out or just they don't have it. In such cases try finding out Reliance petrol pump.

In one of such recent trips had to do the same XP95 was little hard to find and filled in at Reliance. 2liter Engine definitely runs smoother with reliance petrol than normal petrol at IOC. Reliance outlets are also not too many in city area but they are propping at most of the highways.

This is not my first observation. Have done this on multiple trips filling at BP & HPCL too & would definitely bank my money on Reliance petrol as a back up option. Hope this answers.

Seems a very sensible launch price. With current pricing Skoda hasn't stepped on Tiguan shoes which is good thing and doesn't confuse customers much. My pick would be Kodiaq vs Tiguan on the paper. Waiting for the test drives to start. Hope the discount and BH registration start soon at Hyderabad. With a target of 100 units a month it is almost targeting Octavia numbers. Going further once supply chain issues are sorted out do expect decent discounts to roll out.

re: Scoop! Skoda Kodiaq Facelift prices leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 34.99 lakh

Couple of observations...
  • The Superb becomes pointless at its current price point. One can buy the Kodiaq Sportline for the same amount of money L&K costs on paper. The Tiguan becomes the alternative choice for the Superb Sportline. Unless there are mouth watering discounts, the Superb will become a thing of the past, such a lovely car!
  • The Sportline seems to be the better buy. The L&K for additional 2L OTR Bangalore gives you DCC, 360 degree camera, hill decent control, TPMS and ventilated seats. But the Sportline has the sexier interior.
  • Now the Fortuner has a reasonable competition

re: Scoop! Skoda Kodiaq Facelift prices leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 34.99 lakh

Given what the Kodiaq offers over the Tiguan, a difference of 3 lakhs between the Tiguan and the base Kodiaq Style variant is bit too much.

The optimist in me feels the Kodiaq could have started the pricing around 1.5 lakhs less for the Style variant, thus giving more room for the Sportline and ultimately the L&K variant, to play with their pricing.

However, with these overall prices, Skoda has not offended any buyer as such, and made it a good proposition specially for the L&K variant.

The L&K pricing of 37.5 lakhs ex-showroom would mean approx 43-44 lakhs on-road in Pune, which is good as compared to the likes of X1, GLA and the Fortuner.

Discounts would come in only around 8-9 months from now, somewhere during the September-October (first half of financial year), a favourable time frame for depreciation benefits to be availed of.

Newly launched cars dont get any discounts, not that I know of. OTR pricing for L&K in Maharashtra should be around 45L. I Think its a good deal for those who want a petrol SUV.

L&K is worth the price for the additional features. I'd go for it if i was buying another Kodiaq.

Yes you will get loyalty discount which i think could be 50k. But not sure of newly launched car.

I saw this. My question was that style has only white as per this, which I felt is wrong. It should have more colour options. Similarly, sportline doesn't list black, which is wierd. Hope it's a mistake..

Fortuner has a certain cult following and Diesel powertrains drive sales for this model. Customers looking for entry level German luxury cars will be drawn towards Kodiaq, for it being a well appointed car with loaded features, space, maintenance costs and value for money. Citroen can have tough time competing with Kodiaq's pricing. Interesting space to watch out.
