Heard some reports that vtecs are generally diffcult to tune as compared to the other cars....when i say difficult , i mean that these have to be tuned only at Honda authorized showrooms and not at any roadside auto garages...don't know whether this is true or not though..

so did any of you guys face any issues regarding the tuning/maintenance of your cars ?

cheers

I think Domnic would be the right person to answer this question.

Just for the record, my Vtec is still stock. And yes, people would rather tune normal engines than tune Vtecs.

I have heard from more than one source from the customization industry that modding the Vtec is more complex than a stock 1.5...and understandably so. Butttttttttttttttt its not impossible at all in India. You just have to make sure that you are going to an expert who knows vtec's inside out, and one who insists on a high quality of product/service delivery (just like in modding any other car).

In fact, Vtecs are known to respond better to mods than the stock 1.5's. Dom, is there anyway to remap the ECM, coz the stock thailand version pumps 120bhp+!!

My Vtec has barely crossed 5000 km, and I still have a while (15000 km) before I start customizing the performance.
