The present Corolla is a very good car and it a good value for money proposition since you can get a special deal at this point of time (year end)

Sx4 Diesel will come with which engine? 1.3L (same in swift), 1.5L or 2.0L?
Any idea about it?

Recently saw a feature about the Tokyo Motor show on TV in which they had the SX4 diesel (hatch version) on display sporting a 1.9L engine. Thats probably the one that'll make it here. The 1.3 (swift) would be too underpowered.

With VGT, the figures would be 90bhp, which is in no way underpowered for a diesel!

That would put it right in between the fiesta and the Verna. I think it makes sense as it would appeal pose a threat to both the cars. Also Maruti could lower the cost of spares etc that way.

The new Accord is already reviewed by ACI Dec Issue - Looks fantastic !!

Also I was watching some prog yesterday on TV - they were showing the hyundai Santa Fe ( I think in the Performance motorshow in Mumbai ) - That is also ready to be launched in the first quarter.

But I personally am waiting for the Fiat Linea - Most awaited car by many I suppose !!

I had visited visited Hyundai stall at "Performance Show". Santa Fe is definitely good and they allowed visitors to get a first hand feel of the car's interiors. The automatic gear box ( gate type) looks very tempting. Goodies are also plenty. Its generous in space yet not so huge/ roomy as compared to Safari. Seems to be a good softroader to compete with CRV & Vitara and best thing that it's with diesel(2.2l ) engine. They didnt disclose prices as yet but I guess its going to be imported hence, may be above 20 Lakhs upwards ex-showroom(my guess is based on Tucson and CRV current prices and add premium for novelty factors and diesel engine).

Had read an article in a newspaper that they may launch it in 25 lakhs range. Lets wait and watch.

Another awaited news is about Mitsubishi Outlander in 14-18 lakhs range. Hope they do it.

Captiva is the most awaited launched from GM with plenty of variants to offer and will probably satisfy all the customers who can afford Rs. 16lakhs upwards till 22 lakhs with various permutations and combinations of goodies. They will show case it in Auto Expo at Delhi in Jan 08 but be on lookout for test mules around you!!

Thanks Payam,
I read those posts. I myselfhave driven GV in Saudi Arbia. On and Off roads and it is a good vehcile, small compared to those monsterous Land Cruisers, Pajeros, Patrols and the new breed X5s and the infiniti,s SUVs. But, for the price, it was good vehicle.
I don't see much of these on road, even the Honda CRV is more popular here.
May be one reason as given in a review, it is more OFF-Road and less On-Road vehicle, making it not much suitable for Indian conditions..!!!
