Just spoke to the service manager at one of the mahindra's A$$. He says there are new launches in 2008. To begin with the scorpio 2.2 crdi(e) in march, ingenue (if i get the spelling right) and another unspecified model. He suspects it could be from Renault.

Guys I have always been saying that it will be launched end of nov or first week of dec. The actual beast is about to arrive.

Come on Ranc... I know you have more info on this as compared to any one else here. Pleeeease do us a favour and do advise (in case you do know) whether the A/T is scheduled at the time of launch next week, or will it come more towards the later part of 2008?

Its in the form of a teaser when you launch the website.

i got a call from mahindra dealers here saying that the launch is on 4th of december.he did not get the details regarding the specs and price.he said that the high end varient(OTR) is 1 lk more than the current SLX model.
he said by 30th he will be able to give the details regarding the specs and pricing.He said its a 120BHP and not 140

If the pricing is 1lk more then i guess most of the new features discussed in the thread will be reality.hope it does.

BTW spoke to sridurga and bhasin (dealers in delhi) - they all have the idea that its being launched in mumbai on 30th Nov - they arent aware when it'll arrive in Delhi. they did confirm that the scoop is functional, the volume control buttons on the steering, the cruise control option etc - however they had no idea with respect to A/T! . Damn!

Actually thats a very valid point indeed. We'll have to take into consideration that its a Mahindra after all (and not a Honda or Toyota) - so will the frills be durable enough? Or will they be more vulnerable to failure more quickly - thereby increasing the cost of ownership eventually.
