What happened to Nissan's grand show of hybrids and Juke and Qashqai and x-trail?

My uncle used to have a Duster diesel 1.5 MT, and by far one of the best cars I've ever driven. The suspension geometry was so good, I remember I drove from Bangalore to Kochi and back and with zero fatigue. I was heartbroken when he decided to sell it! :Frustrati

I was discussing with a friend about buying the same car, and if Renault does bring the Duster back, I am booking one for sure! clap:

I don't think that the past shall define the future for Renault.

Less probability that they will invest crores and then make the mistake of launching an outgoing car in European market - that will be reported thoroughly + Indian market has changed and matured drastically as compared to the past.

If they do make this error, seriously, these companies need to hire the right leadership in India.

Ford India leadership also made mistakes in India until they lost share and could not compete further. When they didn't launch Freestyle automatic but Figo automatic instead, I remember having tried to reach them and asking what the hell are you guys doing rl:

They could be possibly CBU imports if volumes are low or CKD imports if their pan India showcase of the vehicles via Golf tour has yielded enough insights to have decent volumes.

Juke frankly should be a Make in India. Rest can remain to the golf playing exclusive folks.

Volumes may not justify local production, Juke is size wise neither here nor there, and with Duster local announced with Nissans version also coming, Juke has no scope.

Not at all. A turbo petrol with average of 12 kmpl vs a hybrid at 20 kmpl looks big on paper but at petrol cost of 100 Rs per litre, per km cost comes to 8 Rs vs 5 Rs. If the price difference in the cars is 3L, you need to drive 1L kms to break even. My Civic didn't do 1L kms in 14+ years of ownership.

12kmpl is a dream for big suv

1.3 turbo petrol Kicks get 8-9kmpl in city but a hybrid is at its best in City

New Renault Duster India launch likely by Diwali 2025.

5-seat Duster likely to come by Diwali 2025
3-row version of Duster to come by June 2026
Both SUVs to have their Nissan counterparts
The midsize SUVs from both Renault and Nissan will likely come only with petrol powertrains.

Quote:

the company has started work on projects P1311-R and P-1312-R – the B+ and C segment SUVs for Renault – and P1311-N and P-1312-N for Nissan catering to the same segment. These could indeed be the five-seater SUVs and their three-row derivatives. The alliance partners are expecting to produce and sell about 3.5 lakh units per annum by 2026

Diwali 2025!!
It will be too let to launch the second gen Duster .
At-least they should then launch third gen model here, along with international markets.
Duster has very positive impression in the market, which Renault should cash on but not this late IMO

So, we need to wait for more than 2 years, and there is no clarity on the launch of the 2nd or 3rd generation of the model. Until then, they will continue with Kwid, Kiger, and Triber. Now, waiting for a Nissan Qashqai or a Juke would be hopeless too. Seriously, disappointed.

I hope they also bring the brilliant 1.5 k9k engine back with the new duster. I missed two golden opportunities to pick up some really nice cars, one was a Kicks top end diesel and the other one was the updated 110 ps Duster AWD (with the touchscreen and everything). I still regret that I did not grab the opportunity to get one of those cars brand new, but I'm hoping I can redeem myself if they launch the new duster with the 1.5 k9k.

Thats some great news on confirmation of comeback, is it definitely 2025 or 2052, maybe some type error.

Nissan are really optimistic if they think Magnite can carry them on its back for the next 3 years.

Too little, too late. We would already have the electric AWD Harrier/Safari and Mahindras by then at which point no one would care about the duster.
